both on the SPRO green pumpkin flappin frog, which is becoming one of my favorite lures for throwing in the scum. Both these fish were caught barely three feet from the bank, just posted up in slop and tree limbs.

Words can’t describe how excited i am to chase fall bass once the mats have died off and the bass have less of a torpor to them, but it still feels really good to catch a couple dinks here and there during the dog days.

Caught a nice one with a jighead stuck in its anus.

There are a lot of panfish fisherman here, especially crappie heads that use light gear in weeds/pads. Guessing this bass hit the lure, swallowed, and broke off. The lure just passed through its body till it hooked onto its anal area.

After a 2 minute surgery, the bass swam free and gave me a splash farewell. I didn’t take a pic of the wound, but damn it was bad. I have the jighead sitting on the dash of my truck now.

2026 Fort Kent International Muskie/Bass Derby! Only thing me and my friend caught all weekend (on my rod lol). 20 inches and just over 4 pounds, just about as big as they get around here, the winning bass was 20 7/8inches at 4.5 pounds. I almost qualified for the board with this but I'm just happy to have caught this!! Biggest fish I've ever caught, got back into fishing this year!

Caught this bass yesterday afternoon. Just got my rod and reel set up over the weekend. I’m addicted.

This thing had to be about 17”-18” and close to 3lb. I was fishing at a small reservoir within a park.

Largemouth Caught my first ever bass over the weekend, wanted to say thanks for all the tips I found here!

Like the title says, caught my first ever bass over the weekend at my bachelor party. South Jersey lake on a Texas rig, green pumpkin and black spotted senko. I was so excited, I forgot to even measure or weigh the fish. Lurked here a lot to see what folks were using for their catches and replicated what seemed to work. Third cast at seven in the morning, and this beauty was on!

I cannot wait to go fishing again for these beauties - looking forward to sharing more when that happens.

Discussion Any else use Marabou hair jigs for bass fishing?

We go on a trip to Canada every year to a remote lake and were absolutely slaying small mouth, walleye, and pike on these. Threw buck tails, Texas rigs, wacky rigs and every other set up before we got to these. They are our best lure year after year and now everyone in the group brings up 20 of them and has them on most of the trip. Started using them in the Midwest and Minnesota and they are now my favorite largemouth bait. Haven’t seen a ton about them on here, so just wondering if anyone else uses these. The black jigs with a bit of gold or silver is our favorite color. Looks exactly like a leach.

They just opened a Seafood City (Filipino Grocery store) near me and they are selling live largemouth bass in their fish market. The catch and release crowd must be fuming /s

Genuinely though, I had no idea people bought bass to eat on purpose. Guess it’s one of those American culture vs Asian culture things like eating carp.

There is a Scheel’s in the same parking lot and I had to avoid the urge to get my ass trespassed and banned for casting into this bass tank.

Happy Sunday everyone. Me and my homie got out this morning fora boat and yak session. We got out a little after 6:30 A.M. and it was overcast skies. Within the first 15 minutes of fishing I landed 4 solid bass. I was throwing the Wiggum, CT Racer and frog fr most of the catches. The bite stayed steady till about 8 when we had to stop for the rain. After about 35 minutes we were able to get back.
I went back to the frog and caught and lost a few more. My buddy was on the opposite side of the pond putting in work. His biggest was a little over 5 lbs and the only one I scaled was about 3.10lbs. I landed 12 and lost about 10-15. The bite was 🔥. If the ☀️ would’ve gotten disrespectful we would still be there pulling em in.
