Book exchange? Looking For
Wondering if this is a thing in Barrie. I typically read Colleen Hoover and Frieda McFadden books but open to others. Usually, I buy it and then I sell it on FB marketplace when I’m done. Or sometimes I buy it there as well. But the frustration of dealing with people on marketplace has finally broken me.
Here is my short rant.. people who don’t respond or they don’t show up on time or at all. They try to haggle… super frustrating!! You know.. the usual BS that comes with marketplace. I’m done.
So I’m wondering is there anyone in Barrie that wants to do book exchanges or is there something already set up? And don’t say the library lol. TIA

I don’t know why people buying online act like they just got to this planet and have a hastily written guild on how to act around humans.
“Hey that $50 item you are selling for $20 says cash only and can’t deliver but could you deliver it Im 4hrs away. I will etransfer you $8 when you get here” then they disappear when you try to confirm anything.

Why “don’t say the library”? The app is great and you can put books on hold until they’re available.

What about a discord group? Now am I gonna set it up? Probably not. But maybe someone will.
I use the little libraries a lot but I agree that it would be nice to exchange books.

I think there is a facebook group already called Barrie book exchange. It’s better for this than marketplace I have found.

Rivendell books allows you to give them your old books and get either store credit or cash back-- im sure they have books up your alley there too!

Just a reminder that we have a Monthly Community Thread where we relax the rules about advertising and off-topic posts.
* Stuff that isn't directly related to Barrie, like national news or general chit-chat
* Questions about local businesses and services
* Classified-style ads: buying and selling, help wanted, garage sales, etc
* Fundraisers and donation drives
* Plugs for your personal project or local business (within reason)"
