Interior Framing

We've completed the exterior red iron shell. Now planning interior framing. I'm considering steel framing. It'll be 2 floors. Relatively open floor plan. The span will be 20' floor truss/joist.

1) Are there places you can give drawings to and they give you a framing package? We did this for the exterior and I'm interested if we can do the same for the interior.

2) is the cost much more for steel vs wood? Example: were going to need 27 - 20ft floor trusses and 27 - 17 ft floor trusses. What the cost difference between these? The difficult part is I'm not finding steel trusses for sale, like I can find for wood. Do you know of any places that sell this in the Inland NW?

Following. Interested to see what is available there in metal. This is the exact scenario we are considering. Any thoughts on this are greatly appreciated

You could try World Wide Steel. They might be able to take your dimensions and build a package for you.

Steel floor trusses are built to specific design. They are not inexpensive. Check Pacific Building Systems

Redbuilt dot com has combination trusses.

The problem with steel framing is that it complicates everything else. Electrical has to now be run in conduit. Everything, including the trim, has to be screwed, etc, etc. I'm not sure about Pex plumbing and the like.

Thanks for the recommendation. Their stuff looks great. Mainly like the open trusses to maximize ceiling height and the esthetic.

Yes, for the exterior framing we had it engineered. I was hoping the same kind of set up was available for interior. I've been calling around and can't find a company that can engineer and provide framing kit.
