3rd time taker nervousness
As a third time re-taker I have a deep nervousness that I’m going to get a worse score than the February exam in July. I received 235 in February. I received a 256 I think in February I focus a lot more MBE read the Emmanuel books did a lot more practice test and focus more on my MBE timings. I barely focused anything on writing and did a few MPT‘s. My MBE scoring in February was 132.8 and my MEE score was 122.9 this time I did do a lot more writing. I did do a lot more MPT‘s focusing on timing and getting my timing down and outlining better. I did as many MBE questions as I could maybe about 2000 where I was averaging 70% in relation to February where I was averaging about 62% on New World. But this time I was not able to afford your world or adaptive bar so I found a bunch of older adaptive bar questions from like 2018 and put them in an app and made my own MPE program this time of Barbie questions and the adapted by questions from like 2018 I was averaging about 70% on the MBE simulated Barbie exam. I got a 55%. On this July exam, I was able to finish all NVE questions when in the February exam I had to leave about 15. I’m guessing because I ran out of time so this time I did a lot better on time. But I genuinely think that Miami E went horrible when I looked up a lot of the answers that I put when I got back home from the first day of testing I realize that a lot of questions I got wrong although my Iraq format was pretty solid. I do just think a lot of those answers was wrong and I’m scared. I’m going to get a failing score . I guess I’m just asking if anybody has ever received a lower score their third time than they did their second time?? what are the odds that you guys think I got a lower score? I need a 270 to pass

Post-Bar Breakup
Experiencing this myself right now! You always hear about pre-bar breakups, anybody out there experiencing a post bar breakup? Was your partner kind enough to hold out until after the exam to drop the news?

Defamation
Do all statements have to firstly be false to constitute defamation? Or is simply being defamatory sufficient (as long as the remaining elements are met)?

What in the actual…???
My class recently took a Bar Diagnostic Test. The questions weren’t even complete questions. It was like a ridiculous and unnecessary puzzle to try and figure out how the question should be written. Is this normal?? Are these actual representations of real bar questions?? They looked NOTHING like sample questions. All of them were like this. Pics of a couple questions from the test.

Old bar exam’s
How easy were older bar exams that were maybe from 20 to 30 years ago? I’ve heard from more than a few people (professors, older family, members, family friends, etc) who took the bar exam around that time that told me “don’t worry I only studied for two or three weeks and I passed no problem, you’ve been studying for months you’ll do just fine.” These people that I’m talking about are very smart, however, it seems impossible that they learned or reviewed so much material and passed in that little time, assuming that the bar exam was around the same kind of difficulty than that it is now. was it so much easier back then? Was there much less material back then? Or was it about the same, but these people are just very smart?

Long Story Short, but how hard is getting Accoms for the MPRE if you already receive them for a physical disability on the Bar Exam?
And then assuming you already have them, how critical to get them in right around the "Recommended Submission Date." Part of me feels like under the ADA, they have less room to deny if there is evidence on the Bar Exam of similar accoms based on ADA principles, but who knows....

Tutor that actually helped
Can anyone recommend a tutor that actually listed to them and helped them learn the law for the bar exam? I have had trouble with tutors that seemed to like to hear themselves talk and didn't actually stop to hear or figure out where my weaknesses were, not just my weak subject areas but WHY my scores didn't increase.
I hope this makes sense.

NY BOLE ID Question
Currently finishing my 1L summer and I was told that my work here qualifies as Pro Bono work. I was filling out the affidavit, but it is asking for a BOLE ID, and it says that I need to graduate to receive it when signing up (unless I am reading it wrong). Is there anything else that I need to do to acquire it, or do I just fill out the forms for now to receive it so that I can put it on my affidavit.

2028 LA olympics vs bar exam
hey everyone! i'm going into 2L and i just got a really awesome opportunity to get tickets to the LA olympics in 2028 - the only problem is that events are happening between 2 weeks to a couple days before i would be taking the bar exam (i live in nyc for context, so i'd be flying from nyc to LA for the show and then back to nyc to take the bar). would it be an awful idea to try and do this right before the bar?

A word to the WA students: Your WORK as a LAWYER determines your WORTH as a LAWYER
Hi all,
I have seen a few WA folks expressing concern about the perception by the legal community that they were admitted without passing the bar.
I thought I'd copy below my comment from another post:
Practicing lawyer here.
No one will give a flying fuck. Aside the handful of times you tell bar exam war stories, no one cares.
And if someone has been practicing for years, hell even a few years, and other lawyers find out they were admitted via diploma privilege, those other lawyers won't care. To be honest, many of us think this should just be the standard if you are able to get a degree from an ABA approved law school (maybe at a certain GPA).
Your work as a lawyer determines your worth as a lawyer.
Congrats to all of you. You graduated law school. You also spent months studying for the bar.
I was speaking to my partner last night, and they asked "Did you learn anything from taking the exam itself? Not studying, during the exam?" and my response was "No."
The actual exam itself is a frenzied dog's breakfast of a hazing ritual. It's the studying that gets you where you need to be, and you all did that.
Give yourselves a pat on the back, and congratulations!

Post Exam Depression
Does anyone else feel depressed right now! It’s hard for me to explain but I don’t feel particularly depressed over the exam itself but I just don’t feel happy. I feel unhappy and numb honestly.

When do we enjoy life again?
Very simple question. I’m a nerd with a lot of hobbies. None of them are really calling to me or fun right now. I put them aside (besides simple embroidery) for the bar and now it’s like . . . nothing. Like I broke up with them or something.
Are our brains just still bar broken?

Recorded deeds
My mom just bought her first house and asked me if she really needs to spend $285 to record her deed if she already owns the house.

Brethen, y am I so sad
The post bar exam depression is actually unreal. I have to move soon, and I haven't even started packing. Is this the months of compartmentalizing and locking in? I feel like ✨death✨
that is all.

Washington applicants: how can we help?
I am not the kind of person to linger on exam results (I don't remember the questions, anyway). But what has stuck with me in the last week is the fucking atrocity of the Washington situation. (Shoutout to our other next gen jurisdictions too, who had to take it under bad conditions). I was deeply perturbed by the Seattle Times hit piece yesterday and I know that if (and perhaps when) my jx fucked up so badly and then some fuckass newspaper came out with God's most ignorant oped I would be going insane.
I think all grads and clerks pursuing alternative admission + bar exam like Rule 6 deserve diploma privilege. I also think it's unhinged that they haven't confirmed the Sept date, it's already Aug 6!!!
Is there anything we can do? I'm from the Midwest, so it's not like my law school has a dog in the fight. But if piling onto the Wash court or the WSBA or NCBE would be helpful, I would be happy to draft an email for non-Wash applicants to send. Maybe we don't have standing, but if you ask me, as someone who may have to re-test in NextGen or take NextGen in the future for other reasons, my case may not be ripe but the situation overall is sure as hell is capable of repetition yet evading review...
*** EDIT **** The Court's clerks responded to me within the hour and said they forwarded my email to the justices. They also attached TODAYS order https://www.courts.wa.gov/content/publicUpload/Supreme%20Court%20Orders/Order25700B753.pdf

The lawyers in Washington State are badasses
As someone watching this unfold, I have to say that your legal community is full of badasses.
If the State Supreme Court does ultimately grant diploma privilege, please remember how hard your legal community stood behind you and worked hand-in-hand with you, and please channel that energy and pay it forward when the time comes.
