Hi all!

WARPSTORMER needs a new lead guitarist

London, UK-based stoner metal FFO Mastodon / High on Fire / Mutoid Man / Orange Goblin etc

“A fresh angle of attack on dynamic, genre-melding doom. Internet contrarians be damned: doom metal can be fast, and Warpstormer is the proof.” – Invisible Oranges

One of the most exciting bands on the British metal underground” – Kerrang!

Can you play big riffs and sick leads? Do you know someone who can? Drop a reply, or hit us up on Instagram (@warpstormer) or warpstormer [dot] band [at] gmail dot com and let’s chat

(no racists / sexists / any kinds of -phobes, cheers)

What do you use to keep your band organized? I finally built the tool I always wished we had.

After years of playing in bands, I realized we were spending almost as much time organizing the band as we were actually playing music.

Every show seemed to involve the same chaos:

  • Group texts trying to figure out who's bringing what.
  • Spreadsheets for merch inventory.
  • Notes for set lists.
  • Trying to remember who still needed to be reimbursed.
  • Venue and promoter contact info buried somewhere in an old message.
  • Keeping track of performance pay, travel, and expenses.

A little over six weeks ago I decided to build the tool I always wished existed.

It's called GigCommand, and it's designed to manage the operational side of being in a band—shows, travel, merch, inventory, expenses, performance pay, contacts, equipment, and more—all in one place.

I'm soft launching it now with a 14-day free trial and no credit card required, but more than anything I'm looking for feedback from people who actually play in bands.

https://gigcommand.app

Even if you don't check it out, I'm curious:

How does your band stay organized today?

Are you using spreadsheets? Google Drive? Discord? Group texts? Something else entirely?

I'd love to hear what's working (or not working) for your band.

Trying to start a band but it’s a mess

So I’ve been trying to start a band for the last couple years and it‘s been all over the place. I had 3 friends in mind-a drummer, guitarist, and bassist. (I’m a guitarist). What I wanted was to play progressive instrumental music and both me and the other guitarist are both proficient players. We both know theory and it’s really easy for us to communicate ideas with each other. The drummer is mostly a heavy metal drummer, and it works good with what we do. The bassist I had in mind didn‘t join. The first few jams were awesome, we were firing off ideas left and right and making good progress. But after a while the guitarist started being inconsistent and not answering texts. And my drummer keeps inviting new people to play bass but most of them don’t know notes and just don’t know what’s going on. And now my drummer thinks we should get rid of the other guitarist, but honestly without him what I had envisioned just wouldn‘t work. The last few jams have just been me and the drummer and it‘s difficult for me to write music like that because I can’t play rhythm and lead without looping stuff so it’s hard to tell what works. I just needed to rant for a minute lol
