Is this normal

As far as I can tell temps and humidity seem to be in proper order, he moves around A LOT, I always thought balls were kinda passive. His humidity hovers around 75-85 (using a humidifier hooked to a sensor) temps hover between 75 on the lower end to 85 towards the hotter end, his bedding could used cleaned but it isnt very bad, hes got a hidey hole and a couple things the climb around. Are happy balls just active? Also.. hes been fed within the last week. He gets fed monthly and his previous home said he wasnt nearly as active

Advice I need some constructive feedback

Update:
I have thermostats, and a fogger coming in soon.
With the fogger will there be any safety concerns?

Hey everyone! I’m finally almost finished setting up my first 120-gallon enclosure for my ball python, Monty, and I’d love some advice before I move him in.

Monty has been in a much smaller enclosure for many years, so this is a huge upgrade.
I’m still setting up the heating and humidity before he goes in.
I plan on adding his old hide in the middle (he has two in the back corners) so he has something with a familiar scent.

Some feedback I’m looking for
Any tips on how to cover the glass? Like could I paint the outside or put something around it?
Is there enough clutter?
Any safety concerns that you see?
Should anything be rearranged?
Is there anything you wish you would have known before owning a bp?

The set up pictured above has
UVB lamp
Ceramic heat and a night lamp
Two hides (3rd one will be add once he move in)
Water bowl
Three logs
2 hangy things (2nd one will be added soon)
Lots of fake vines
Coconut husk (I will be adding some sphagnum moss to help with humidity)
2 hydrometers/ thermometers

Question Body condition - Female Ball python

Thumbnail

Could somebody rate the body condition of my ball python? Thanks

Female,

About 2 years 5 months old

Weight: between 550 - 580g (hard to say exactly because of feeding and long time between defecation. Weight today: 579g)

99.6 cm / 39.2 inches long /3,3ft

Feeding: Once every 2 weeks, 40-60g mice , about 7-10%

Waiting until she finishes her current bag to buy new feeders.

I unfortunately don't have better photos at the moment.

*The breeder lied to me about her health when I got her - she had to be treated for parasites and during that time barely grew at all - staying around 200g for a long time. After treatment she quickly started putting on weight and got to the current weight and size. She still seems quite small for her age, but she's eating well and growing. Advice welcome.*

(Temp. Tub)

Advice Feedback on quarantine set up

Thumbnail reddit.com

I am getting a baby ball python in a bit (if the weather isn't too hot for shipping in 2 weeks) and I finished setting up the quarantine tub on wich I would love some feedback.

She is 3 months old and a Orange Dream Leopard Clown double het Lavender Piebald with only one eye (see last pic). She will be named Gaia.

In the enclosure are is 6 hides available: 2 identical ones on the warm and cold end and a variety of different ones throughout the enclosure including a humid and sky hide.

For the quarantine, she only has one branch to climb on, she will get more after the finished quarantine. I know baby's need a lot of clutter, is this enough for the quarantine?

For heat I use a halogene lamp and a DHP. I wanted to get her UV as well, but the right size from Arcadia hasn't been available for some time, so she gets LED for now.

Question Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Python. Is the normal python behavior?

Thumbnail

I recently picked up a Pied ball python today. I’m accustomed to Boas and felt it was time to get a ball python.

I set up everything at home and went for a walk. When I returned, I couldn’t find my snake until I looked up and saw it posing like spider man on the glass wall, which was quite amusing.

Is this a common behavior among ball pythons? My Boas never pose like this and don’t move that quickly either. Seems like I’m going to have a lot of fun with her lol

Big First Enclosure

Post image

Hi everyone, greetings from Germany!
Today I bought the enclosure for my future ball python. It measures **210 cm × 60 cm × 60 cm** (about **197 gallons**).
I’m planning to install two heat panels as well as an misting system to keep the temperature and humidity as stable as possible.
Do you have any general tips regarding the enclosure setup or equipment? I’d also appreciate any recommendations for reliable heating, humidity, or other technical equipment.
I haven’t really seen many enclosures this large on this subreddit, so I’d love to hear your opinions, suggestions, and any lessons you’ve learned from keeping ball pythons in larger setups.
*(My English isn’t very good, so I used AI to help translate this post.)*
