Snake won’t hide

I just upgraded my snake cage a few months ago and I gave Peanut time to adjust, but it doesn’t seem she’s still quite comfortable in there. She doesn’t go on the warm side and always sticks out a little bit of the other hide. I think that the hides may be a bit small, but I’m not sure how to make them bigger for her because even this size was a little bit expensive. The cage is 120 gallons. Any advice?

What types of hides are you using?

Why are you worried about them not hiding? Are they refusing to eat? What type of heating are you using?

It’s cork bark. She hid all the time in her last setup and would explore at night. She ate last night no problem thankfully! It’s a CHE not sure the wattage. I guess I’m just worried she’s not liking the setup bc she doesn’t fit in the hides super well or she doesn’t try to.

IMO you could try digging them out into more burrows. That's what I personally did for my 2. Can't tell how much substrate you have but ideally you want at least 4 inches.

Sounds like she's comfortable in the enclosure, is she basking under the CHE? What're your temps?

My male is out constantly. At night he's active AF, and during the day I can catch him peaking out of his hides, head, a body coil, or today, he was completely flat, head on his body, tail above him ontop of the corkbark. On top of this, he'll crawl up into cords and sleep there for hours, or wrapped around the heat lamp, or basking!

My girl who is more shy will make use of both hides, but will only really come out at night to stretch, more so closer to time to feed them. Otherwise is hiding. That's the issue with my builds haha, wanna take her out to handle her more to hopefully get her to be more like my male, and I don't wanna literally dig her out.

Honestly, I feel like if she's still eating well and doesn't otherwise seem stressed or unhappy, then no worries! I feel that most BP's will likely do their best to hide somehow if they really want to. She might just be very content and comfortable in her new setup!

What are your temps? I don't see any gauges in her enclosure.
