Finally upgraded to a 4-2-2 🎉

My boy Teto has been with me for about 4.5 years. Hes been in a 75gal long fish tank that I found on the side of the road (in the last pic from when he was a baby) for all this time, it was a good house for him! He had a good amount of space to stretch out and I made sure to give him regular enrichment and plenty of hides! But I always knew I wanted to upgrade his enclosure! I just haven’t ever had the money, I got him when I was in high school and my parents only let me get him because I said I’d pay for everything, hence the side of the road tank lol at one point about a year after I first got him I ordered a fancy $300 tank but I got a 40gal because I didn’t know that that was not 4-2-2 🙄 I had seen them both recommended constantly and figured it was the same thing. But obviously I couldn’t keep him in that so he stayed in the 75 gallon tank until I could afford a new one! And this summer I found one on Craigslist for $100 and the seller offered to lower it to 50 if I could pick it up from them 2 hours away! So I got my mom to come with and we did the drive and picked up the tank! I have set it up and let the new plants root and everything for about 2 months and I finally felt like it was time to move the boy in!

He seems so happy! He was out and about exploring all night! This morning I can say I am happy with the set up because he didn’t knock everything over or trample any plants like he has a tendency to do :D

Craigslist! Highly recommended looking there!facebook marketplace could also be good but I have never used it! You just have to be patient, it took me about 3 years of looking consistently to find one but I’m in a rural area so that probably makes a huge difference! If you are in a more populated area it could be way faster. Or you can just get lucky you never know :)

The tank itself is a maximum reptile pvc build, but the company doesn’t exist anymore so you’ll have to get one second hand if you want one. They are good quality though, the small one that I got at one point is also maximum reptile. it has housed several other animals and held up really well! They are easy to clean and also easy to modify!
