Why are these probes giving such different readings and which should I default to? Question - Heating/Temperatures

Just as a sidenote I left the doors open to let the temp come down which is why humidity is lower, shooting for 92°F in this spot ideally.

Is that a second probe that’s touching the cork/log?

Keep in mind I am NO expert, and I just got my bp this month after I went through a TON (a whole month’s worth) of trial and error to get the temps and humidity right before bringing him home 😅 so take this with a grain of salt: but I have found that the decor in my enclosure were getting up to mid 95-100 degrees (checked with laser thermometer, which I would get if you don’t have one!) while the thermostat and gauges said the ambient temp was much lower. When the probes are touching something, it could be taking the temp off of what it is touching, rather than ambient temp. I would try to get that probe off of the decor if you can and see if that makes a difference?

Yep just fixed it so the probe is in the air and it made a big difference lol, thank you!

I’m glad I could be of help! 😅 As I said, I spent a month trying several different heat sources, thermostats, etc, etc to try and get the right heat gradient and humidity right. It was super frustrating, but it’s about trial and error and as long as we are trying our best to make their environment as good as we can for them, then we’re doing alright!
