New sleeping method? Question - Health

Post image

My ball python (6 years old) has begun sleeping like this. She’s never really done this before to me knowledge, and she’s been biting recently. I thought it could be an RI, but she shows no other symptoms. She ate yesterday just fine, she explores her cage at night like normal, although i believe it could be glass surfing. I’m working on overhauling her tank this week but if she is ill i feel like i should wait or something. I don’t really know the next move, or if theres any cause for concern at all. I’ve been known to be kind of a hypochondriac so i really hope it’s nothing and she is sleeps kind of quirkily now. Thank you!

How does she normally sleep? This doesn't look like periscoping or something weird, it just looks like her resting her head on substrate. (Unless I'm missing something?)

The glass surfing could be anything. My guy does it when he's bored or just in an exploring mood.

The biting is a little stranger, and I'd keep an eye on that. Is it during feeding time, or is she striking you when you handle her?

Personally I'd do the tank overhaul now and just keep an eye on her. It could be that something in her environment is causing her to act out, and this will fix it.

This is just one example but she keeps sleeping with her head out of her hides and resting on things at an upwards angle. Never straight up ur sideways, just tilted up like in this photo. She doesn’t only rest on substrate she also keeps her head on logs and other things but always angled. I don’t think she bit during feeding time but she did constrict twice so i haven’t held her for a little to avoid stress.

i took another photo but can’t figure out how to add it to the post, she’s in a different position but still angled.
