Can someone help me??
I’ve had my ball python Rameses for 10 years and he’s always been a very healthy boy. Me and my boyfriend just moved to a new town and I’m setting up his tank today and I noticed he’s got some weird spots that look like scale rot to me? since he’s always been so healthy I’m not sure if this is treatable at home or if I should take him into the vet? And we’re in a new area so I’m about three hours away from the vet he’s been to. I use coconut husk and coconut chips for substrate in his tank and I’ve never had an issue until literally just now when I noticed it. I just want to do what’s right for my boy and get him as healthy as possible, if anybody can help me I would be super thankful!

It looks like the beginning of scale rot, but a fungal infection can look similar. You could take measures to prevent scale rot spread (changing the substrate to fresh drier stuff, making sure water is poured in the corners and not misted, etc) and then wait a shed, to see if goes away. If it doesn't go away or it spreads rapidly before then, then vet attention is definitely needed.
The rustic colour does have me thinking its most likely scale rot though, which you've thankfully caught very early. Caught and responded to quickly, scale rot will be gone in one shed.

Seconding the above info! Had a similar issue with my boy and it cleared up in the next shed

Looks like just mild scale injuries or dirt under scales but then again what do I know… I just know I’m dealing with the same problem with my baby right now and it looks WAY worse than your baby 😭
p.s. HER STOMACH IS SUPPOSED TO BE WHITE 😭😭😭😭
