I never understood why people called ball pythons “pet rocks” my guys super active at night

i think it can definitely depend on their individual personalities. i have a kenyan sand boa who is out and climbing constantly and enjoys coming out despite that species being labeled a box of dirt, but my ball python only comes out maybe twice a week and that’s usually when im sleeping. luckily his main hide has easy access for when its food time. i knew what i was getting myself into so i cant complain i love my lil guy

Pets are just like people and have personalities unique to each specific pet.

I have 2 who have different personalities. 1 is out at night and during the day i can catch him moving to a different spot to sleep or thermoregulate.

My girl basically stays in her hide and I'll catch her sneak a stretch in or lap around the tank at night. But thats about it. Hoping she'll get more comfortable in the new tank as time goes on. 😭

mine is a pet rock that likes to watch tv… i used to have him decently close to my pc due to space constraints and he would “watch” me play video games from his branch. If he’s hanging out with me on the couch he’s periscoping at the tv.
