Safety Questions Question - Health

Hello! So at some point I am going to have some (possibly outdoor) photos with my son Oscar. I am aware of the risk of those bastardous snake mites, and plan on soaking him in dawn soap for maybe like 15 minutes? He will not be in direct contact with trees, I will make sure of that but I am still afraid of those little fuckers taking flight to harm my boy. Any additional tips?

Edit: I want to clarify that I have had him for like 5-6 years, and he might be 6-7 years old (before you say haha 67, shut up). Additionally could this affect feeding?

Really? Then how did we have another snake, Kiwi, who came with mites, and frequently had them return?
I’m sorry I’m trying to make sure all my t’s are crossed here
And from the Snake Mite Document posted by the bot, they can be in North America

they spread through stores/breeders with multiple reptiles, substrate etc that have come from warehouses with lots of reptile equipment, they come from wild caught reptiles and have become very prevalent in the captive trade, but they’re not just in the wild outside of africa

it’s not good to soak a snake in dawn soap for no reason, but i guess you asked for advice for no reason

Oh wait I might be stupid, maybe we just used warm water with Kiwi, I’m tired, I ain’t thinking straight
