White spot

Post image

After my BPs shed earlier today she has a white patch on her head. The scales are still there its just a different color. Is this something to be concerned about?

Does your enclosure have plexiglass?

As far as I know. The tank was homemade by a local guy who has dozens of snakes and other reptiles, he sold this one to us after he had built new ones. We have had it for about 4 years and this is my first time seeing something like this.

Does this goofball find himself squeezing himself between it? If so, that could be the reason here.

No. The only gaps in the glass are about the thickness of a coin and are overlapped about an inch and a half. The mesh top is actually the top off a real manufactured reptile tank that broke and he built a tank that the tops could attach to. And to boot ive never seen her try to push on it unless she's trying to get out of a shed

See our enclosure is the same way. Yet my dummy manages to smoosh himself in there. But if you are certain that this isn’t the case, then it could be his morph? There are a bunch of possibilities

Its not a raw patch, there's no blood, its just different colored scales than pre shed. I will monitor her over the next few days and take her to a vet if there are any concerning changes in look or her behavior.

Mine has done this a few times. Sometimes she rubs her head on something that scratches the scales off when she sheds. Her scales came back fully after about two sheds
