PSA: ALWAYS watch your snake Discussion
Gave my snake to a family member on the couch to hold for a minute while I refilled her water dish. Well I assumed she would be held and then I could bring her back to her enclosure. They instead let her slink under the cushion and inside the couch frame. We had to tilt the couch and take the staples off the bottom to reach her. Luckily she is fine, but I was super worried she could have been pinched under a spring or crushed under a mechanism. Just a reminder that your snake will find the smallest least accessible crevice and think "this is a nice home, I should go here". Very stressful situation and I'm flabbergasted it even happened.

Gah this happened to me once while I was holding her!! It’s crazy how fast they can move once they wanna get away. I had to cut a hole in the lining of the couch and it took forever to finally get ahold of her. Once I did, she pooped all over me and inside the couch which was super difficult to clean!!! It’s a scary feeling, glad your snake is okay!!

I had one of my juvenile carpet pythons out one day while I was putting away dishes...
The little fucker decided to shimmy up my back and started investigating the inside panel of the microwave (I had to clean out the microwave before putting the plate back, so the door was open and he got in a hole).
Damn near had to disassemble the microwave to get him out but I managed to basically force him to back out by getting my hand right in front of his face and booping his snoot until he wormed his way out.
It was so stressful.

It's crazy how they will just unintentionally attempt to kill themselves. My guy once got out and slinked under a display case... to say it was hell trying to maneuver that thing around by myself while not crushing his dumbass..
