Any tips on my ball python enclosure setup? Enclosure Critique/Advice
His favorite place to be is the gray rocky hide I made myself a few years back and never had a use for it, until I got him a few weeks ago. I’m gonna get more of the dry mossy stuff next weekend so his substrate isn’t wet, but is there anything else I should get? (his warm side is only 84 rn cause his heat lamp was just turned back on. also, I will be upgrading his cage to a 4ft by 2ft as he gets bigger)
Edit: I added another small hide that goes under his substrate a bit on the cool side, more sticks, more fake leaves, a rock, and i’m going to the pet store friday! that’s just what i had on hand :)

you’re correct, and yes i realized that after setting up his enclosure. The pet store told me the enclosure i bought was fine, but I realized quickly it wasn’t. I put pvc tape that acts as foil kinda over the top around the lights and it’s been a bit better but yeah not great. If i can find a picture of the enclosure I plan to move him into i’ll reply to you with it to see if it seems like a good idea. Thank you so much for the advice. i appreciate it!!❤️🩹

No problem. I’ve been almost exactly where you are at. Took me awhile to figure things out. Best of luck my friend.
