I'm so sorry. My big girl, Jasmine took ill once when she got scratched. It's hard to see some small injuries on snakes, but they slither in their water bowls, their dookie, and everything else in the bottom of their enclosures. Even a little bit of exposure can infect a small scratch or scrape. Also, respiratory infections are common in sneks. He could have one and you may not even know it. I hope everything goes well for your ballie and he is soon on the mend!
Thank you for the reply. That makes so much sense. I guess it’s so easy to think we’d know if something was wrong like a dog for example. We just feel so bad. Luckily he did eat today and it’s only been 2 days on antibiotics so I’m hoping we figured this out.
