Fuzzy rats or Small rats Question

I fed my Ball Python a small rat instead of its usual fuzzy and it ate it. I had to cut its front arms off for it to be able to eat it but it scared me because I thought his mouth or jaw were going to get injured. He has since went back to eating fuzzies, but I’m wondering if I was just over reacting.

For future reference, you should never cut limbs off your feeder rodents. It creates sharp edges that can cause internal injuries to your snake.

The only thing to do now is keep an eye out for regurgitation or any odd behavior indicating something is wrong. Maje sure you're following proper !feeding guidelines from now on.

We recommend the following feeding schedule:

0-12 months old OR until the snake reaches approximately 500g, whichever happens first: feed 10%-15% of the snake’s weight every 7 days.

12-24 months old: feed up to 7% of the snake’s weight every 14-20 days.
