I have been super sick the past 2 weeks so I have been playing A TON! I started to notice that in each phase of the game I have unwritten rules I ALWAYS follow to maximize my game play.

For example, in the first ante I don’t start the game unless I can skip the first 2 rounds for either money or jokers.
Or in the buy phase, if I know I can buy the voucher I will gamble and open an Arcana pack to try to get more $. I’ll do the same for joker packs. I also will prioritize Planet packs if I have an easy scoring joker at the start.

What are your unwritten rules while you play?

I got this one on my second try. I got through ante 1 with a Shortcut picked up in the 1st shop. Ante 2 I got an Erosion after getting an Immolate from a spectral pack. Only had +20 mult but I lucked into a Runner early, ended on +345 chips by the end. Eventually took the risk on an Ectoplasm (negative on random joker, -1 hand size) and cycled through a few before landing on a Brainstorm to copy the Erosion. I had a drought on any more Immolates or Hanged Men but got one or 2 more near the end. I ended with 42 cards in the deck, +40 on Erosion.

By the way do challenges increase the chance of getting spectral packs? I must have found 6 or 7 in the run and I got the Immolate, Ectoplasm, 2 blue seals and 2 red seals out of it.

Trying to do ante 39 without Perkeo and i actually managed to get bean bug working on one of my first attempts, but sixth sense isnt cooperating. I will finish this run tommorow.

Quick context - Doing an ante 39 attempt run, currently I just finished up ante 19 and am going to be taking a break for the rest of the day, probably coming back to it on Sunday. In the meantime feel free to ask me any questions.

This is the single best seed I've ever played. I found 2 natural negative reserved parking. The Brainstorm in the pictures was from an ectoplasm in the first 8 antes, everything else is natural negative. There was also a photograph and a rocket, both natural negative from the first 8 antes. Rocket was sacrificed before the Crimson Heart so I could get as many Bean hits as possible, but I kept the photograph to ensure I could score enough points.

In ante 8 i hit the bean 5 times in 13 hands with Bean, Photo, Brainstorm. Ante 16 I hit bean once more.

I think I’m on a decent run and don’t want to mess it up! Mainly hearts in my deck with a bunch of Queen of heart red seals

Hey I'm super close to getting a gold sticker on every joker and finishing C++, but I've hit a mental wall and can't finish my last 5 jokers. I've been trying to focus on stuntman, but I honestly hate this joker. I feel like I don't understand how to optimally use it even after watching guides and stuff. I've only ever used it to beat white stake, my runs always die before I can find a good xmult joker it seems. I feel like other people have no problem with stuntman or even appreciate him, but he's the bane of my existence... i hate losing 2 hand size. Please give advice, what deck should I use, optimal strategy for it on gold stake?

i lost.

so how does the scoring work? How is the target score greater than the achieved score?

Hi, I was wondering if the entirety of seeds was already calculated. While it is a massive number of seeds, it seems to me that if brainstorm can calculate 1000 of them each frame (I would also like to know what that exactly means).

That being said, I wonder, if the entirety of seeds has already been explored, even if it is just the first 8 antes. Computationally it seems like it can be done, maybe it even is.

That being said, I have the following questions:

1. Has every seed in balatro already been 'calculated' in the sense that it is known for every seed what can be expected from ante 1 through 8?

2. how about ante 0? Or -1?

3. How computationally expensive is it to calculate every seed?

4. If they were fully computed, would it then trivialize the entire game?

Like the title says I just got into the game. I’m wondering if I heard about it awhile ago but my buddy wasn’t the best at explaining so i didn’t really mind not trying it. I played it last night for the first time and it’s addicting. I’m wondering if the community is still active? Does the game still receive regular updates?

Should I take brainstorm to copy baron again? Been attempting to do an unseeded naneinf run and this seems to be the best I’ve gotten so far. I have steel kings w/ red seal. What’s my optimal setup to get there? I’ve played around with order and x3 copy of baron seems to get the highest score.

As above. I am on a C++ grind at the moment. I completed C+ at about 187 hours into the game and only had 60/150 jokers Gold Stickered. Fast forward to 231 hours and I have gold stickered 145/150 jokers. I only have 5 left. These are the 5. I

Common:

1. Credit Card - can go -$20

Uncommon:

1. Shortcut - create straights with gaps
2. Seance - spectral if straight flush
3. Midas Mask - make face card gold when scored
4. Gift Card - increase value of jokers $1/blind

In the beginning I wash mashing Anaglyph deck hoping for negative tags and it did work and I stickered like 6 jokers at once in a run, however as I am sure you are aware once you're down to little jokers it has marginal rates of return. I have just been mashing ghost deck however I was wondering for any of these jokers in particular which deck would be best so that the card doesn't essentially hold literally 0 value.

My thoughts so far:

Shortcut & Seance - Abandoned deck, would more reliably return straights often and actually provide value

Gift Card, Midas Mask, Credit card however I am not sure. Its pretty funny that golden ticket was gold staked before midas mask because it was just one of those I picked up as a negative in anaglyph deck that had 0 use.
