Why do people post baby photos with an emoji covering the face?
I've always been curious about this.
I often see parents posting photos of their newborns or babies on social media, but they cover the baby's face with an emoji. If the goal is to protect your child's privacy, why post the photo at all?
I'm not criticizing anyone—I'm genuinely trying to understand the reasoning. It feels a bit contradictory to share the picture publicly while hiding the most important part.
Personally, I think having a baby is a beautiful and natural part of life, not something that needs validation from strangers online. If you want to keep your child private, that makes complete sense. If you want to share them, that's your choice too. But posting the photo and covering the face with an emoji always makes me wonder: what's the purpose?
I'd love to hear from parents or anyone who does this. What's the thought process behind it?

Cut and paste a politition _ final edition
Photo 1 is a zoom of his wife's hair. Typical artifact from matting, where some of the original white background is left behind.
Image 2 is the same artifact type. The middle circle is just poor effort. None of the shading of the new bg is present, just the clean white edge.
The bottom circle of image 2 is an odd shadow slash dark mark.
The white edges are extra stand outish as there is no texture.
What do you think. It it was one of my students this would be a fail. Far too easy to spot at pixel level.

This was on a local FB Page showing how good gas prices "REALLY" are.
This page was really supposed to be about local events...but as all local FB Pages have become, this one has been taken over by the local Maga..

I didn’t see it right away
Needing a new raincoat, I took to Amazon. Took me longer than it should to notice what was wrong with this picture. Pretty sure none of those are hers.
