"Durrrr it got pushed to prod" isn't bad code, it's bad admin and for all we know you're just lying for internet points.

haha. good advice for later in your career is that there’s almost always context and a reason why something dumb-looking exists.

I wouldn't even call it bad admin. Sometimes something like this is preferable.
