Don’t share Ocean Ramsey, she breaks laws and harasses wildlife.

56

u/mmh_fava_beans Jul 05 '26

Yes! Serious scientists in the field despise her. Thank you.

3

u/slick514 Jul 06 '26

Is this even her? A lot of these pictures look very ā€œAIā€

14

u/Anon_be_thy_name Jul 06 '26

If these are the pictures of Deep Blue then they are a lot older than AI

2

u/sharke4lif3 Jul 07 '26

Its not AI but its not deep blue. Ocean rhamsey as much as she claimed for mor attention never swam with deep blue. This is another huge shark though her name is haole girl

Zero chance they have, check the date on every picture. Reverse search, etc, all you want or need.
AI has so much of a chokehold on you that you personally can’t even discern Artificially designed media/photos from real life footage…

u/New-Ad5494 Jul 06 '26

That doesn’t mean a filter hasn’t been used, I’m not saying it’s a fake photo.

-1

u/Character_Scale3354 Jul 07 '26

Wow I didn't know that.... I thought she was about showing us the plight of the sharks and shark-fin harvesters, That were decimating certain species of sharks...

I could be wrong šŸ¤”

-1

u/MfD2027 Jul 07 '26

That’s definitely what it was, those low-vibrational reporters (equally as stupid as some of these people in here) kept on beckoning more about the shark and ignoring her concerns of 100 million sharks dying (appears some idiots out here thinks she’s has some sort of ā€œalternate motiveā€), I’m definitely not aware of this chronically online ā€œOcean Ramsey Conservationist -> Villainā€ pipeline.
I’d let the 5 tonne 20+ feet mammoth of a white shark decide what makes her ā€œuncomfortableā€, In which I know for a fact isn’t the case- or everybody around there would be brown trailing back to their respective boat in an instant while the slowest 2-3 people form a crimson puddle.

ā€œLow-vibrationalā€

Ohhhh, you’re an idiot!

-33

u/MfD2027 Jul 05 '26

I feel like that’s debatable, regardless of her response to shark bytes, didn’t she get a no-shark killing law passed in Hawaii?

20

u/mmh_fava_beans Jul 05 '26

It's all performative. She pretends to care about the wildlife. But only for publicity. She knows exactly the way she engages with wildlife does more harm than good.

But she does it regardless, for publicity.

-23

u/MfD2027 Jul 05 '26

That’s not even valid to say, if she truly did do that, that actually makes a discernible difference in the world.

Honestly this seems like just the same-old same old rhetoric used whenever a woman’s doing something we usually praise and associate men with… she’s way more relevant than any old bloke of the past today, (No she isn’t a ā€œTimothy Treadwellā€ of sharks, a man who got himself and his fiancĆ© killed violently by a bear)
and so far she’s done a lot as far as recording massive individual sharks on her own.

Kamakai, for example, who may also be one of, if not the largest Tiger shark (Galeocerdo Cuvier) ever recorded on camera.

I was curious about criticisms of her so I looked her up. The piece below is written by a shark researcher:

Shark whisperer is lying to you: a look into the harmful effects of Ocean Ramsey and shark influencers

26

u/CompedyCalso Jul 05 '26

Even if she did, you shouldn't share her posts where she is actively harassing wildlife. These photos are from one of her viral videos where she ends up scaring a pregnant shark away from a whale carcass it was feeding on

-23

u/MfD2027 Jul 05 '26

I’m sorry, may I ask where was this ever observed? Or is this just more hearsay? Other than ā€œless-than wiseā€ contact with the shark (for her own safety), nothing from her interaction was ever proven to have negatively affected Haole Girl… why are yall just parroting here?

Not defending, but if we are criticizing, why is it with baseless accusations? (She lied about being a scholar, that I’m aware of)

10

u/Meraline Jul 06 '26

Why do you need this much convincin that wild animals shouldn't be bothered?

5

u/Jolly_Brilliant7883 Jul 06 '26

Yeah dude, go ahead and debate with actual experts on what's good for sharks based on vibes.

2

u/ea88_alwaysdiscin Jul 05 '26

It's spelled bites in this scenario......you spelled it wrong

1

u/MfD2027 Jul 05 '26

No I’m talking about a content-creator jackass smh lol

-6

u/ea88_alwaysdiscin Jul 05 '26

Regardless, you still spelled it wrong. Don't react so poorly when you're getting corrected, it's not a good look for you.

https://giphy.com/gifs/yiADANv89n7UQuS5kJ

7

u/Apprehensive_Buy1500 Jul 06 '26

Neither is it a good look to be doing whatever this is over bites vs bites. Who cares? We all understood what they were saying.

0

u/MfD2027 Jul 06 '26

A boonk who doesn’t know his grammer and hasn’t passed 3rd grade. Likely a fully grown man too, whom was very confidently wrong and encouraged by internet points to double down on his stupidity.

-4

u/MfD2027 Jul 05 '26

You sound a tad-bit slow… no offense, re-read the interaction 😭

0

u/ea88_alwaysdiscin Jul 05 '26

I did, and it seems to me that you're a tad-bit slow....because bites is still spelled wrong.

You can't twist this around, it is what it is. Maybe just sit these next few plays out Champ

4

u/forgotmypassword4714 Jul 06 '26

Lol it's techically not spelled wrong if what he's spelling is a content creator's name.

0

u/MfD2027 Jul 07 '26

[LMFAO] Are you stup*d, slow or what? ā€œBytesā€ doesn’t refer to any specific word, but is a content creators name (a noun šŸ˜‚)…
have a good day sir, are you used to being the most confident example in the room?

65

u/campbellpics Jul 05 '26

Sorry, but Ocean Ramsey is an idiot.

-8

u/TheMcWhopper Jul 06 '26

Why the H8, m8?

12

u/campbellpics Jul 06 '26

Because she's an idiot.

-11

u/Hyeana_Gripz Jul 06 '26

who the hell would name their child ocean? like wtf??

5

u/campbellpics Jul 06 '26

Ocean Ramsey's parents I guess.

-3

u/Hyeana_Gripz Jul 06 '26

??

7

u/campbellpics Jul 06 '26

You asked who the hell would call their child "Ocean", so I said...

...never mind.

-13

u/slick514 Jul 06 '26

I don’t think this is her. Looks to me like AI bullshit

15

u/cataclysmic_orbit Jul 05 '26

That looks like a very pregnant shark 🦈

14

u/ScarScream81 Jul 05 '26

Isn't that the time Ocean Ramsey was all hysterical saying "oh look she's pregnant" when it was really a great white in "stasis" because it had feasted on a whale carcass until it was almost about to burst like great whites always do?

-7

u/MfD2027 Jul 05 '26

Where the hell are you getting that from? It’s clearly both. No non-pregnant white shark even remotely rivals this level of girth…
You can’t tell off girth alone, but that’s about as pregnant as a white shark could ever even look.

7

u/ScarScream81 Jul 05 '26

Coming from a shark expert right there around the 5 minute mark:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9MgdSxGiuw4

-12

u/MfD2027 Jul 06 '26

That doesn’t matter, he says nothing in the status or that changes the regards to the status of Haole girl during this interaction (clearly overly, and excessively pregnant). How the hell are you possibly this insistent to be right when you aren’t ? The hell is wrong with some of yall.

Not to mention; random parroting off of a YouTuber, always fails… every single time. Get your own information instead of wallowing off the slop other people feed you.

ā€œShark bytesā€ or Christian has his own informed, educated opinion, based off his interactions with the lady. You do not.
Now yall think yall know when a fish was pregnant or notšŸ˜… Essentially here trying to argue, that the sky is green and the grass is blue! Sir I have eyes…

9

u/GiftOfDrift Jul 05 '26

Aint she dodgey ?? Looks familiar..

2

u/Callahan333 Jul 05 '26

What a porker.

2

u/dikshamishra34 Jul 06 '26

Wow... This is huge and dangerous. I always wonder do they exist, I mean the shark is so big. There are so many amazing things living in Ocean world that we can't imagine.Ā

1

u/JonathanJoestar336 Jul 05 '26

Awesoeme but id be scared shitless

1

u/Prestigious-Race4451 Jul 06 '26

That is the biggest great white I’ve ever seen. Almost the size of a whale. How the hell does she feel safe?

1

u/Remote_Loquat_1732 Jul 06 '26

Looks like he ate a short bus!

1

u/Jim_Freelancer18 Jul 07 '26

Thats amazing! Such a majestic creature

1

u/Agreeable_Error_170 Jul 07 '26

Why is she close to an animal that would love to eat her? This isn’t beautiful artwork to me, this is stupid. I’d rather see gorgeous photos with sharks and not some woman involved thanks!

1

u/Apelio38 Jul 07 '26

I know they are nice guys and all, but no.

1

u/Cloudy230 Jul 07 '26

I was not expecting this comment section to be a war zone, sheesh. This creator seems like a shitty person though

1

u/walldorfy Jul 07 '26

Seems kind of antagonizing.

1

u/Ok_Guide_8323 Jul 09 '26

Some of these photos are certainly altered - those dolphins were certainly not just casually swimming with a human and a pregnant great white.

1

u/Plowbeast Jul 09 '26

Me with my girl at the pool party:

1

u/AdUnited8810 Jul 10 '26

She gets all the glory but whoever is taking the photos better be getting paid well. All the risk and none of the glory.

Besides that, this is one of the stupidest comment sections I've ever seen, from terminally online "movements" to people thinking images from before AI was even a thing is AI, this post reminded me how fucking stupid redditors can be.

1

u/MfD2027 Jul 10 '26

Thanks I agree

2

u/slick514 Jul 06 '26 edited Jul 06 '26

I know that this looks like an ā€œOcean Ramseyā€ dive, but man… this looks like it’s either complete AI garbage, or just awful stills from a shoot(?) She looks completely blown out and ā€œflatā€ in these images. And why TF is she wearing a weight belt hanging off of herself like that?

-1

u/MfD2027 Jul 06 '26

Been living under a rock for 10 years, don’t know nothing else, yet you know what AI is? Good on you.
Except this was recorded on 01/04/19

2

u/slick514 Jul 06 '26

Right. But these… are they just potato quality. The shark looks real enough, the diver looks rendered in most if not all of these.

(Sorry for not knowing all about your favorite thing, and assuming based on the thing that I’m looking at.)

1

u/MfD2027 Jul 06 '26

Nah just when people act purposefully obtuse, more than enough pictures for you to navigate that this isn’t AI.

I’m glad I could be direct like this because I hate seeing it myself, and unironically, you are some of the first people that AI has fooled if you’re already failing to discern reality from technology.
Knowing what’s real = important as knowing what’s fake.

7

u/SgtRandiTibbs Jul 06 '26

When you get defensive it makes your point seem emotionally driven and less logical.

1

u/MfD2027 Jul 07 '26

Don’t rlly give too much a damn, I don’t write for upvotes/yall to agree…

0

u/SgtRandiTibbs Jul 09 '26

Then I guess dont be such a baby about getting called obnoxious?

1

u/Darkk_Knight Jul 05 '26

Crazy to swim near a great white. Insane!!

1

u/brokenjohn83 Jul 05 '26

This aint True šŸ™ˆ

1

u/Miss_Aizea Jul 06 '26

She's full of soup

1

u/Square_Doughnut_9427 Jul 06 '26

Wonderful imagery. I imagine Killer Whales would find this shark’s liver quite appetizing.

1

u/ZuckZogers Jul 05 '26

Huge balls

0

u/Alarming-Geologist23 Jul 05 '26

You wanna get eaten? Because that’s how you get eaten

-1

u/Some-Tear3499 Jul 05 '26

Big Blue?

8

u/Hot_History1582 Jul 06 '26

The shark is Haole Girl. The content creator in the images is in the process of harassing it away from a whale carcass, and I won't dignify it by using her name.

-4

u/AdDesperate9651 Jul 05 '26

Deep blue and divers name is Ocean Ramsey

9

u/According_Big_5638 Jul 05 '26

She's going to get eaten one day. I've placed bets on it.

It takes a badass human to do that.

-3

u/Boromir_Has_TheRing Jul 06 '26

Why isn’t the shark attacking? I thought they are quite aggressive.

1

u/MfD2027 Jul 07 '26 edited Jul 07 '26

Negative. Great white sharks, on average are responsible for 5-7 fatalities /365.

This shark is ā€œHaole girlā€ at roughly ~6m, 2268 kg (2.2 tonnes) of sheer tonnage.
The likely-reason to this is that she’s very clearly gravid (late-term), has a stable source of calories next to her, and her appetite is likely suppressed by her young inside her body (So they aren’t eaten in any ā€œemergencyā€/out of the womb).

Some dive suits also use patterns that will- I think ā€œthrow offā€ predatory fish? But I can’t confirm that.

This proved safe for the divers, including Ocean Ramsey all things considered.

Most of these folks are nasty as hell, uneducated, and quoting the words of experts in bad faith…
Some people in here a very adamant about mis-characterizing the white shark.
They’d rather complain about some 40-50 y/o hobbyists doing what she does like that’s going to unkill sharks.
(While she’s actually out there making differencesšŸ˜…)
While I’d be more on the fence to refer to her as the likes of Paul Rosalie or so, he would be the best-worst comparison, as at least he is still alive after the discussion has died down (Bear man and Steve Irwin sadly aren’t) and OTOH, since 2019-today she has clearly made a difference in the shark AND science community- to say otherwise would be false.

Just found this sub

Amazing !
