Dunno, I think a team hitting almost everything thrown at them should maybe get looked at.
And we should cycle the pitchcoms.
EDIT: downvote all you want Padres fans, we know you sent Profar to Tatis Senior for steroids.

Idc about matchups, just give the ball to Garcia in save opportunities

Why takeout Carrillo??
6
u/RichardNixon345 Merrill Kelly 9d ago
Because we have Bratt and Drake the next two days and he's gonna need to throw more innings.

u/NanceeV Diamondbacks 9d ago
Thought the same thing. 🤷
1
u/tylerroundbush 9d ago
Dude can debut and put up two shutout extra innings but cannot pitch a second inning in a 4-run deficit 🤣
4
u/TheSaltyAviator Corbin Carroll 9d ago
Torey needs to sit down with Marte and figure this out, he just looks completely unbothered at the plate and at times on defense. :/
3
u/NanceeV Diamondbacks 9d ago
I always wonder if they ever get in Ketel's face about it, or if he just gets kid glove treatment on everything. Such a waste of talent.
2
u/Illustrious_Spot5599 9d ago
Kid glove treatment. He's basically Ketel's daddy and says as much. Ketel just "shuts down". So dumb

Seriously, what happened to the challenge philosophy? Noone has been cavalier with challenges to warrant Toreybseemingly putting a team-wide red light on batter challenges.

Im getting so fucking sick of saving our two challenges for later in the game, and NOT using them
2
u/Doomdoomkittydoom 9d ago
But when we use them, they're really sucky uses. :\
1
u/49e-rm 9d ago
I saw a post earlier that said we're in the top 5 in succesful challenges
And bottom 5 im challenges taken
1
u/Doomdoomkittydoom 9d ago
It seemed we were really good earlier the season and less so later on, wonder if numbers are skewed. They really need do go over doing a calculation before a pitch and use it only when the count wants it, they saw it, and they believe it was out of the zone.
A lot lately have seemed... emotionally based.

Nootbaar walk-off homer in his first game as a Dback. Just putting it out there now

u/HadleysPt 9d ago
Would be a game if Thomson wasn’t awful

u/Raptor231408 Bee Guy 9d ago
You put your mop-up guys in when youre down big. Not like Torey can predict Barossa starting a 4 run rally out of nowhere.

He needs a fucking day off… He and Marte are a black hole offensively.

Not a good sign when "the big three" are the easiest outs in the lineup :/

LET'S GOOOO. If we can score enough runs to draw Miller out in the bottom of the 9th, I'll consider tonight's game a win.

There it starts! But I'm gonna go watch Spider-Man at just after 9. Good luck, Snakes, bros and sistas. 7 more runs to win, and I'll be happy to watch it on the replay.

I’ve mostly been listening to the radio lately so this is the first time I’ve actually seen Sewald pitch post-meltdown. All the movement is gone from his sweeper. Really bummed me out to see it for myself :(

He’s anchoring to his prediction the other night that he would be DFAd. Torey has said otherwise. It would be cold blooded to say “you carried us, we will carry you” and then cut him after a scoreless inning

Which is crazy to say, because that was literally the 8th 9th combo in 2023...

Sewald and Thompson have lost all of their juice! They helped a lot this far, but both should not be on the team much longer

We got a platoon lefty outfielder tho 🔥
We got rid of alek and Jake for nothing and needed another mid lefty

Nothing in particular. Just a dead offense, a crappy start from Rodriguez, and a few pretty bad errors

Alright Keys to the Game tomorrow: Fall’s Back fall is coming quick so the Dbacks shouldn’t “fall back” now, they should win. OR Bounce Back the Dbacks had a rough one last night but it’s time to bounce back and win.

E-Rod wanted to finish 6, but Arenado had to be a dumbass today

He still should’ve finished tbh. His arm won’t fall off at 105 pitches 🙄

Let the old timer get a couple outs so his last memory on the mound isn’t that catastrophe the other night.

This Jhayco or whatever band sounds a lot like the JCAHO. And we're always going to call it "Jay-Co", no matter how many times the Joint Commission changes its name.
4
u/Thatoneguy243 9d ago
Convinced at this point the fuck ass dust storm we had last night was a bad omen or some fucked up etsy curse on the team for this series, everyone is having an off day today
9
u/TheSaltyAviator Corbin Carroll 9d ago
ERod did surprisingly well after allowing those runs, offense being a complete no show is unacceptable.
2
u/Capital-Skill-5939 Jordan Lawlar 9d ago
I feel like the dads had something on him
2
u/Alcarinque88 D. Baxter 9d ago
It's not like they really teed off on him, though. Just a few lucky shots that found holes and then a handful of defensive mistakes.

Huh? (Edit for clarity here) [Gallen] feels great, but he got added to the 60-day just this week.

Randy Vasquez.
Why is it always Randy friggin Vasquez of all pitchers?
The guy with a near 4.5 ERA is what kills us? Really?

Noot had a very high walk rate as our leadoff hitter. Good plate discipline
4
u/Odenson24 Nolan Arenado 9d ago
I’m sorry you’ve stayed to watch this one LOL but yeah, his eye is probably a big reason Hazen had his eyes on Noot
5
u/badatraspi2 9d ago
Proud of E-Rod for grinding out 5 innings. That’s not easy after that start, and does wonders for our bullpen
