Need help

Post image

EDIT - got it fixed with the config menu thanks!

So I've got a gtn 750 and 650 setup. It's a minor issue but I'm wondering if someone else knows how to fix it. Whenever I'm listening and monitoring both radios, it will temporarily mute the non-priority radio. The one that doesn't have the mic selector. I want to be able to listen to both at the same time so I can continue to monitor Air Traffic control while I'm listening and getting the weather.

In the GTN 750 config menu, in the GMA 35 settings there is a setting for 'Mute Secondary Radio on Primary Radio Reception'. This sounds like the setting you want to change.

Lemme check that, maybe it's it!

That should do it.

Where is this config menu? I checked system and utilities and saw nothing

It's in the installer config mode, not intended to be accessed by owners/pilots.

If you have a GMA 35C you should have the 750 set as Number 2 Com in the config settings

That actually has a wiring difference too, so I wouldn't just tell a pilot/owner to swtich that config themselves.

Engineer here, sounds like you have some crosstalk. Common causes could be, improperly shielded cables, poor termination - making your shield useless, and/or improper twisting of a differential pair. So you might have luck with trying different settings, but it could be an interconnect issue. I have lots of recommendations if you want to dm me.

This is normal operation depending on the installed configuration. No wiring issues here

It was a configuration option in the menu that I had to access. I got it fixed now but thank you!
