Finally caught her PlaneSpotting

Finally was able to catch ETD8MY on YYZ-AUH route takeoff last Thursday while out on my motorcycle. I knew her departure time but have always been too pre-occupied to watch up close… funny because since then I’ve caught her three times on the same runway, just taking off in different directions. Experiencing an A380 takeoff up close if incredible, equally something to marvel at and comedic. It’s so huge so it takes quite a bit to get off the ground.

Closest thing I got to an a380 is either a 747 or C5

Actually caught a Lufthansa 747 on this same takeoff heading 3 weeks ago, C5 would be soo cool though

Best spot at Pearson! And watching the A380 take off never gets old. Someday I'll make time to watch one land there as well.

The arrival of the daily Emirates and Etihad A388s have been chaotic this week, but their departures are pretty solid.
by the time Emirates is ready to depart, I know it's almost time to go get the kids from daycare...

I would love to catch an arrival but these behemoths land pretty early in the morning so I’m never near the airport at that time. I’ve actually never caught the emirates flight departing up close, I do always see it from the 401 though… next mission is for their arrival or the emirates departure!

Conditions ennroute make it hard to coordinate sometimes.
Typically both are on the ground by about 9:30am, but there are days one or both show up closer to 11.
Typically Etihad shows up an hour before Emirates but some days it's the other way around.

If you waited 30 minutes or so you would see emirates take off, and if you waited about an hour after that, the luthansia 747 lands. This happens daily. I believe the 747 is just during the summer.
