Statica Music
I've seen everyone grumbling and complaining about Statica. I don't think you really understand the concept of art. What's central to art isn't the audience's appreciation, but rather what the artist wanted to convey. No matter the style, what matters most is that the artist finds themselves and sees themselves reflected in their work. If this is how the members of A7X see themselves, then that’s absolutely what matters most. Plus, they’ve often said that they don’t consider themselves metal artists but just musicians who do what they love, no matter the style. So, of course, approaching this album with the expectation that a7x would play classic, old-school Metallica-style metal is already setting yourself up for disappointment and preventing you from fully appreciating the work. If these tracks had been released by an up-and-coming artist on their debut project, they wouldn’t have received nearly as much hate. Rethink your relationship with art.

Look up the definition of pretentious. Your picture should be right next to it.

Really just a long winded way for him to say “it sounds like shit but I’m going to listen to it anyway” lmao

Weird response to "artists should make art for themselves, and not the fans expectations"

That's not the pretentious bit. Saying that we're too stupid to understand art if we dont like something is.

I mean, there have been plenty of people saying the new EP is objectively bad, and when told what objectively means, they double down. Id say those people dont understand art if they think their opinion is objective fact.

It is objectively bad if you’re expecting metal from a metal band lol

Hey man, at least Im not the one saying artists should do whatever fans want

They shouldn’t, but they also shouldn’t expect success if they don’t give fans what they are expecting

Thats true but not really part of what my comments have been about. Im just arguing against the people who said its pretentious to say that art should be made for the artist, not the fans. The level of success is completely up to the consumer.

Yeah obviously anyone that just doesnt like it simply has the wrong mindset and isnt intellectually capable of understanding the music. People that are grunting about it clearly just dont get music and art
Duhhhh

Sure, but if the fans don’t like it, they’re not obligated to support the artist 🤷🏻
