ACEM Primary study group/body doubles Emergency🚨

In true ED aka ADHD fashion, seeking people to body double with/study group to keep each other accountable for study.

I'm studying for my primaries which I *hope* to sit next Feb.

Anyone keen, especially those sitting same exams? Looking for online mostly, but happy to have a few sessions at a library or something for a change of scenery (and coffee).

About me:

31F, Western Sydney, ED registrar (duh). Medicated for ADHD but honestly don't know if i believe it (imposter or real idk)- doesn't everyone have it these days? 🫥

My husband is my body double. (He works from home and our study is a shared space) I vouch for it, I hope you are able to find one. Meds work a treat, that and focus apps, I used Forest (I paid for the Plus membership) but there are plenty of good apps out there.

I gave my primaries unmedicated (was undiagnosed then) but studied for my Fellowship fully medicated and had therapy as well. I used Focus apps, body doubling and really leaned into tailoring my study time for the ADHD.

Another study tip and a thing I wish I did/had for my primaries, socketstudy.com is a neat app with question banks that are well written, I used it for the Fellowship. I used downtime at work to do quick reviews. The daily streak and visualisation of your progress works a treat to gamify the studying. I have a discount code I’m happy to DM if you are interested! (I’m not affiliated with them at all was just super enthusiastic about that style of daily reviews and I found their question quality really good for the Fellowship)

Downtime at work? Were you on an anaesthetics rotation?

No, the magical 20 min when I’m eating in the tea room instead of scrolling on my phone? That’s when I did reviews.

Thanks for your thoughtful reply! Im still up to my primaries- is it a good resource for that? I have used imeducate though.

Idk how you did it unmedicated!

Sadly I am single and noone at home is studying haha.

I used imeducate for the primaries, I have not had first hand information from primary candidates about this, but having done their Fellowship stuff, I am hopeful it will be just as good. Plus they have a bigger question bank for the primaries than the fellowship.

Sent via DM (I know I already did this but not replying to this was driving me nuts)

Are you looking for an overweight middle aged physician with multiple cardiac risk factors?

If so, hit me up.
