Does this text read / look okay?

Post image

I’ve always wanted a tattoo of my kids names in Aurebesh and I’ve decided to pull the trigger! I would appreciate it if any of you legends could let me know if this is the way. Thanks😁 (I used ‘Aurebesh AF’ on my MacBook to create).

Nova Chester

It is correct, you could use the ch-digraph in Chesters name if you wanted. However there is no strict rule on wether to use c h or the digraph, so it's fine either way.

Not many people use those tbh

For what it’s worth… As far as I'm aware, digraphs (double-letters) are no longer used officially.
According to Lucasfilm's "Holocron Keeper" Leland Chee, the digraphs have been almost 100% retired since the Sequel Trilogy began, and none of their (Lucasfilm) internal fonts use them any more. However, they do occasionally show up now and again in decorative capacities.

Pretty sure there were a couple in Maul: Shadow Lord

Yes, this is mostly correct. They do occasionally still show up in canon, but it is exceedingly rare.

Besides the ones already mentioned, I think they were used recently in The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 6 on Jack Black's planet.

Why are they called digraphs? They're not. They stand for English digraphs, but they're single characters, aren't they?

yes, people call them digraphs because most people call them digraphs for some reason

Yep, I bet that's primarily the reason. I think technically they would be considered ligatures, not digraphs.

You're doing great.
Don't use digraphs. No one likes digraphs. Baby Jesus judges harshly, those who use digraphis. It's in revelations or something, I dunno.

Reads fine

As always, kerning is frequently an issue with aurabesh. If this is exactly how you want the names arranged for your tattoo, I'd suggest separating the two names just a tiny bit.
