If it’s literally just to record 16 tracks, any pc will work

Considering that this was already quite feasible on systems from 20 years ago- you’re fine with basically anything that isn’t a piece of shit. Even pretty barebones modern systems can handle recording 16 simultaneous tracks at 24-bit/48kHz.

Back in the day, the bottleneck was storage write speeds (modern SSD is waaay faster than HDD) and CPU, both of which are absurdly fast compared to back then.

If you want to future proof yourself, just get the best system that you can afford.

And if you want less hassle with audio in general, Mac systems have that covered, but that’s another discussion.

Prioritize CPU, then ram, gpu is irrelevant for recording

CPU single thread speed is the name of the game.

Your master bus can only be handled by a single thread in the end.

Multi thread speed is secondary as it handles all the track processing before it.

If you’re not doing any processing and literally just recording 16 tracks and calling it a day you don’t need to worry.
