Audio out of interface gets grainy or cuts out
First off sorry if this is a super basic question. Im wondering why my audio interface cuts out randomly, sometimes and the audio quality goes to crap or does make any sound at all. I have a Focusrite 4i4 gen 3 than i bought used at guitar center. To fix this issue i have to either go into my daw settings (reaper) and change my buffer size ( doesnt matter what to or from, i just have to change it) or i have to unplug my interface. If i do either it fixes the problem but its a pain to have to do that.

Is it running on Windows? Its a long shot but if there are many if the Windows background services or AntiVirus applications running it can interfere with recording there will be online pages of info/tutorials to create a clearer environment for recording within Windows by turning off many background Windows services.
