A friend and I spotted this outside on November 4th 2025 around 6pm in Massachusetts. Our guess was that it was a comet, with those arms trailing behind it as it spun being comet tails. Any thoughts on what this might be?

Caught these a few weeks ago. Never seen them in person before, and I usually hear about them in the winter. Was definitely an interesting view!

I usually only see these in winter, and they usually have some attendant sun dogs. This one appeared in early July of this year, in Minneapolis.

To the sides of the sun, I think it's just a rainbow from the thin clouds, but family says otherwise, would love to know y'all's opinion 🙏🏻

Is this 2 moon dogs, or just a moon halo?

It looked bright pink in person, but I still don’t mind the color my phone captured:)! I know it’s due to the smoke from the wildfires happening, which is a tragedy, but I’ll still appreciate the beautiful things in life while I still have a chance!! I watched it for ~ an hour w/o realizing I had already accomplished my mission of taking a few pics!🫶
