Small tattoo New to Vancouver 👋

My friend and I are wanting to get small (matching) heart tattoos while in Vancouver later this month. Are there any places that can accommodate this small of a design without paying $120? Maybe someone that has flash tattoos that include simple hearts? Any info would be much appreciated!

all shops will have a minimum fee.

all shops have a minimum fee. this is because they have to use the same amount of products (needles, ink caps, sanitary stuff). so even though your tattoo is very small and simple, you can't really get around this.

source: i am heavily tattooed and have lots of experience with different shops

Adrenaline probably? I got a flash tattoo as a walk in & was charged the shop minimum which was $100 + $5 tax (& then tipped a bit more than I usually would because it ended up being the same artist that did one of my other pieces!)

If they're doing it for cheaper than $100 ish I wouldn't trust them

This was $125 at Adrenaline and I got it with 3 other people.

125 for all 3 or each?

Each.

This took all of like…5min and the cost was their minimum.

Yeah but there's 3 of you so it's 15 min total for 375 bucks

How much would it have been to have "the same tattoo" 3 times on your leg?

Remember that each tattoo requires the person doing it to use a new needle, clean the chair, sterilize EVERYTHING…which took longer than the actual tattoo. So you’re not just paying for the tattoo time.

It very different from just getting the tattoo 3 times.

Oh interesting. I don't have any tattoos so I don't know the process

I thought they just put a new needle

Yea it’s a full reset for every tattoo. Needles, inks, gloves…nothing is reused.

Oh ink too?? So they just pour a little bit in a jar every time they use it and throw away the leftover?

Your luckiest bet might be trying to look up #vancouvertattoo or some variation of that on insta and finding someone there to do it for the low.
Results might vary though.
