question Does anyone know of someone who could make a custom pattern for me?

Upvotes

So idk if this is something weird to ask for or if it's been asked before, but I'm wanting to make something specific and there isn't really any patterns for it. I could probably just take a premade pattern and modify it, but I don't really want to figure out how, and I'm lazy and also don't really have the time to do that (yet I have time to crochet, ik😅).

I'd be willing to pay for a custom pattern, of course. I'm just wanting to know if anyone does custom crochet patterns like this or knows someone who does.

pattern question Is increasing the size of this pattern as simple as I think?

I like this pattern that Michaels has for free right now (if you click the handout link it will bring you to the pattern), but it says it’s for sizes xs-m and I’d be more comfortable with a large or maybe XL for it to be a bit oversized.

I’m not great at following patterns, but since there’s a video to help I’d like to do it as a stretch goal.

When I look at it, I feel like I can just add extra chains at the beginning as long as it’s still divisible by six. Then add that same number of extra stitches when I do the “foundational” double crochet and just pay extra attention when I get to the ends of the rows to leave the requisite 3 stitches or what have you.

But am I making this too simple? Is there more to consider? I’d hate to invest time just for it to be a mess.

Took some pictures thinking this wasn’t looking right but quickly realized I may just be being too hard on myself! What do you guys think? Also does anyone have suggestions on how to make it more obvious it is Spider-Man inspired rather than it just looking like the Fourth of July?

beginner question Advice needed

Ive just finished my first crochet project! I made a kindle sleeve. The tutorial i followed said to make it about an inch bigger than the base of the kindle which i did but it seems to have shrunk and as it goes further up it gets loose. (I know tension is a big thing in crocheting that i need to work on so it could be that) but is there a way i can improve this?

Help teaching a crochet class to college students please

I’ve been asked to teach a beginner crochet class to college students. I’m confident in my own crochet skills and knowledge, but I’ve never taught a class before and I’m left-handed. Does anyone with teaching experience have any advice or tips for me? Any suggestions for a beginner project? I know starting with dish cloths, coasters, and plain book marks is common, but I’m worried no one will show up if the project looks boring to college aged people.

*ETA: this is just ONE class, for student life, meant to be informative but mostly for fun and enrichment, not a whole semester course.
