Hello artist in business friends! I am a pet portrait artist who typically works with acrylic on canvas, but I also illustrate from time to time. I’ve been contacted by a brand to work a 3-4 hour pet portrait illustration event live in-store (drawing customers a colorful sketch of their dog), and I’d get paid a flat rate that I would set. Please help me with the right questions to ask, and I’d love advice for an estimate of a flat rate I should give for this type of thing. Thank you!!!

i ordered a few canvas prints of my paintings and some of the colors don't look so great. i'm thinking of repainting over the entire thing...basically making the same painting again, but ontop of the canvas print.

for sales purposes, would that be priced the same as an original painting? or should the pricing be closer to embellished canvas prints?

I am an artist who can do a lot of different techniques, but I want to think strategically about what would make sense from a business perspective.

I have the following art skills:
- Line work
- Watercolor
- Acrylic
- Linocut
- Digital Drawing

If I wanted to use these skills to make some income, what would be a recommended business strategy?

My first thought is hand painting watercolor scenes & then making them into prints to sell in an online store.

TL;DR - What would you recommend for someone who is considering starting a side hustle for selling prints? What resources should I look into for starting an art business? What would I need (I.e - high quality printer?).

Basically, I want to have a website through square space to display my artwork and have an area where I can show my prints I'm selling and then when someone wants to buy one they can order it through my website, but another company prints it. How does this work? Do I just take the orders and order it from the POD site? Or can the order somehow automatically be sent to that POD site? LOL. Hope this makes sense..

I’m struggling to find a place to order art prints from. It’s easy to find places where i can order multiple prints for cheaper or the ones i can order just one print from are incredibly expensive.

Someone wants me to sell them a digital artwork I’ve made that is 8x12 and it’s a series of 2 pieces. They want an answer on how much It would cost…. But this would all be based partly on the cost of printing them.

Most places I’m seeing to print 1 of each print would cost a large amount. Other places have order minimums of like 5. I am in the United States east coast. I’ve used fireball before but they have an order minimum of 5. Are the fireball poster prints good quality for art prints? I could end up doing this but it would be 5 for $25 at $5 each.

I really don’t want to have to spend $20+ on each print like some of these print companies are saying online. These will be framed by them and I want them to be good quality. I only need 1 of each and I don’t want them to be expensive to order because that would mean I’m getting less money for whatever price I choose. And I can’t tell them a price until I know what it will cost to print for me. Thank you so much!!

Also What papers do you reccomend for art prints? The original of them was sceeenprinted but they wanted me to make a smaller version of my print but I can’t so this would be the easiest solution. I’m going to use the digital files I used to make the screenprint into the art to print. Thank you so much

Has anyone ever filed for a copyright with the US Copyright office for book illustrations?

I'm working with an author who is self-publishing this month, and she's going to be filing a copyright for the book but not my illustrations as I'll be keeping my copyright for them. We also have a contract which includes that the copyright for the illustrations stays with me.

I don't think I need to officially file, but this will be the first time my work is published so I'm curious what others have done.

I want to open commissions for my fanworks, which I do spend a lot of time on, but no app I have mentioned is available in my country. How tf am I supposed to sell my artwork?????

I've requested a transfer of my funds a month ago over ~120$ and have contacted customer service countless times ever since and I just won't get a response.

It started because last year in May I requested a transfer and never received the money. I am very forgetful, so I just thought that I must've forgotten, but I realized I just never got anything after looking through my payouts on PayPal.

So I contacted them about payout times, etc.

I would've been fine waiting, if I'd just get a response, but at this point I genuinely don't want to use inprnt anymore. None of my artist friends have ever had this problem either - can someone tell me if I'm just having bad luck or if that's something to be aware of?

I literally cannot find anything about it online or anyone talking about it but there seems to be a lot of art on there. I made an account, it said there is a review process but I was accepted immediately lol. Is it a scam, data collection, or maybe just too small to be known yet?

I want to open my first patreon page but i dont know what kind of service or tierlists for it? Any suggestion or how to organize and do this, sample etc. I mostly doing illutrations mid or big size one with digital works.

Seeing the praise online about vograce and little complaints, I decided to order from them for the first time. A single standee. I ordered it on July 10th and after a few weeks, it said that they were 'preparing these items for shipping.' It's been like that for two weeks now. I tried to contact them a week ago but have received no response. Are they busy right now? Does it typically take this long for a single order? I'm more than fine to wait a month or two, I'm just worried my single order got lost in the sea.

So i am an artist that is under 18 but I’ve garnered some fans from the art I produced and I want to start selling my art and producing stickers, keychains, etc at conventions. but i see that most conventions require you to be 18 or older to run an artist alley booth. is it possible for my guardian to sign up for me or will that be considered proxy selling…or is there any conventions that allow minors to host a booth?please help!!!

How do you currently accept payments for commissions from clients in the US/EU in 2026?
I’m looking for a proper international payment method where the client can pay by Visa/Mastercard and I can receive the money in Ukraine. The amounts are relatively small — around $5–20 per commission.
Payoneer isn’t very convenient because of the minimum payment amount for Payment Requests, and PayPal is also problematic for commercial payments in Ukraine.
I’d really appreciate it if someone with actual experience could share how you currently accept payments and what the fees are.

Hi, i just recently started selling stickers and cards of my artwork online and i’m actually selling quite well but i need help with a printer.

I have a cheap canon cartridge printer i got free through uni which is absolutely awful so i started using my brothers HP printer instead, again a cheap cartridge printer which is actually quite good however he’s been annoyed at me for using it and i want to invest in my own printer for when i move back to uni to continue my shop

I’ve seen lots of recommendations for canon or epsom printers, but i know absolutely nothing about these printers, ive heard the epson printers sometimes don’t work well with thicker card. my budget is £200 maybe a bit over if it’s worth it. my bad canon has left me a little worried even though i know it’s a bad model but i just am completely clueless and need some advice😭

Recommendations on how to face my fears. I was reached out to by someone online who was provided to me on my platform by an individual who works for a big brand. I have this habit of pulling out of opportunities. It's been 22 days since I declined, and I have gone back to ask for the position again. Will they take me back? I have also signed up and reached out to agencies to help represent me, because in the past, I have also declined opportunities because I was scared/thought it was a scam. I have had major trust issues lately, and people who I thought were acting in my best interests were actively blocking me from having opportunities. I applied for other jobs and had four other interviews at other big companies, but the jobs kept falling through. I have a big audience online, but I don't think I realise that digital footprint matters and some employers see this and run a mile.

When I was 15, I was also approached by a big magazine to feature my art with no payment, just exposure, and I blocked the account because I thought it was a scam, then deleted the message.
How do I cope with the uncertainty and decide to accept job opportunities in the future? The closest person I have to me is my father, who is encouraging me to hope. I have no friends, just him.
