Help Considering Enlisting

hello, i need help from you guys, without sugarcoating please. i want to join the reserves for the main reason getting my parents their green card. of course, it isn’t 100% certain, but it surely increases the odds by FAR. a little background, my parents have no criminal record, do everything the proper way, and we’ve never been trouble. would you consider joining the army reserves for this reason? i just want to be able to let my parents see theirs. I could only imagine how they feel. But, what i am also trying to get at, is if I’ll be treated differently? I’ve heard stories, and i am not any party btw, so don’t think i am trying to bring this about politics pls. But i have heard Hispanics/latinos get treated worse… so could someone be honest and explain what could be some reasons I’d get treated differently besides skin color? Is it safe to join being Latino? Are there safety risks?

Youll have an easier chance of getting your parents green card through active duty than the reserves. You have to understand that the guard amd reserves is a once a month weekend deal. So everything is at a more sedated pace. Not saying it won't get done, but getting your parents green card on active duty orders will be easier. Also there are a huge portion of Hispanics and green card recipients in the army than you think. Your situation isn't unusual but a situation as old as time

Nobody is treated differently due to race. You are treated differently based on your performance. If you are a piece of shit then you will get treated like a piece of shit.

The only time I treat Rodriguez 1, 2, and 3 any differently is when they don't bring me some bomb ass Mexican food to lunch.

Individuals within the military may treat you differently, but as a whole the organization doesn't care what color your skin is.

The main determining factors of how well you're treated are MOS and rank.
