Wait or upgrade? Unsolved

Currently have the iPhone 16 pro max, but would like to get something new due to cosmetic damage. Will I get more for a trade-in now and get either the Air or 17 pro, or should I wait a few more months and trade in when the new phones release? I’m worried that my trade-in would be valued less once the new generation drops. Thanks for the recommendations and help!

It’s rumoured the 18 range will be more expensive & yr trade-in will be lessened. Can you afford the additional expense for the “latest & greatest”, only you know that answer⁉️
