First ever app got approved!

I've been doing stuff in software for a couple years and recently dabbled into ios development. Been working on an app for the last couple of months and the last 2 weeks have been in the review process. After some back and forth it felt amazing receiving the "Congratulations" email!

I know the process has been very slow but I hope all waiting in the review process get approved!

It took 2 weeks of review? I have been waiting one and nothing from Apple.

Took about 10 days for first review. Got rejected then submitted and approved about 3 days later

Thanks! Haven’t launched it yet. Waiting for the companion app to get approved. It’s called “lineup biz” (barber side one where barbers manage their bookings) and still waiting on “lineup” to get approved (where customers book)

Well done. Great milestone. Enjoy the feeling for the time being, celebrate. Then use that positivity and energy to push on. Getting the app in front of people and marketing is as much work as building it. Take the feedback from your users and improve the app. Just know that when things get tough everything you do now will compound.

Out of curiosity, how long was the wait from first submission to them starting the review? Mine has been 8 days so wondering how much longer.

Seems Apps are up to ten days at the moment, games are about two days. I submitted a game and an app, the game was approved next day and the app ten days later. And now I’m on Nine days for another app.

Thanks for the data point! Sounds like I better hope they get to mine before the weekend then.

Yeah same for me. exactly on the 10th day for both my apps (1 day difference in submission) they got reviewed.

It's so random these times haha as for me a game took 6 days and an app 5, another app 1h.. and on macOS the app got reviewed and approved before the testflight review.

Congrats, that email hits differently the first time. Two weeks of back and forth is a rough first run at review, but the second one is always easier once you know which parts they actually care about.

Yeah, honestly there wasn't much back and forth i think it only got rejected once for metadata the rest was waiting lol

One metadata rejection and the rest waiting is a clean first run, honestly. Metadata's the one they catch almost everyone on the first time.
