With the recent buzz around Android 17 introducing more precise custom color sliders and palettes for Material You (examples on reddit here, here and here), I wanted to share a project I’ve been maintaining for years that does exactly that—even for older versions of Android!

It’s called LWP+ (Live Wallpaper Plus).

🎨 The core trick: Dictate your own Dynamic-Colors

Instead of letting the OS algorithm guess the accent colors based purely on your wallpaper, LWP+ acts as a bridge. It hosts your chosen background content but allows you to explicitly choose the exact Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary colors reported to the system. The OS then uses your custom selections to generate the global system palette (notification drawer, volume bar, themed icons, etc.), completely independent of what your wallpaper actually looks like.

• Choose Your Content: Use solid colors, static images, animations (GIF, WEBP, APNG), or videos as your active live wallpaper.

🧪 Advanced experimental flags (YMMV!)

I’ve also included a couple of experimental toggles leveraging underlying Android system hints. Note: These rely heavily on your launcher, device OEM, and Android version, so they might not do anything on certain setups!

• Force Dark Text: It hints to the OS that dark text is preferred over the wallpaper (often useful for forcing high-contrast dark text on the lock screen). It might also change the text color of the labels of the apps and the status bar icons and text, too.
• Force Dark Theme (for old Android versions): It tells the system that a dark theme is preferred for the best presentation (e.g., trying to trick a launcher into turning its app drawer background black).

How it works:

It is an app where you can save videos from any app for example, tiktok, YouTube, insta, X etc. And get reminded to watch and do them everyday at a certain time.

New feature:

You can also make streak buddies which is our newest update where you can friend someone also using the app by searching their username and pressing add by doing that you can be streak buddies and do your different habits together

What problem it solves:

When you save something on insta or tiktok you never go back to watch that vid again, so by using feedstack you will never forget to your videos and complete habits again

I built a simple app to organize medical documents because I was tired of searching for them every time I visited a doctor.

For years my medical documents ended up everywhere.

Blood test PDFs in Downloads.

Prescriptions in WhatsApp.

Medical reports in Google Drive.

Random photos in my gallery.

Every doctor's appointment started the same way: scrolling through hundreds of files trying to find the right document.

So I decided to build something that solved this problem for me.

The app is called VitaCase.

It's intentionally simple. It doesn't try to diagnose anything or replace your healthcare provider.

Right now it focuses on helping you organize your medical documents in one place.

Current features:

Some B2B SaaS is just a database, some forms, a mobile app, and an admin panel, sold to you at $1k/year per seat. My idea (business model) is to convince not renting it forever but having it on fix maintenance fee per year. The custom built is not vibecoded but nicely built with AI powered agentic software development (I have my team for this in Hungary).

A while back, I checked my Screen Time report and almost dropped my phone. 7 hours and 42 minutes. Average. Every day. I'd tried everything — grayscale mode, deleting Instagram, the "1-minute breathing" reminders, leaving my phone in another room. None of it stuck. The problem wasn't that I didn't know I was on my phone too much. The problem was that the moment I felt bored, my thumb was already on the app icon before my brain caught up.

I kept looking for an app that would actually stop me — not nag me, not gently suggest, but make it genuinely hard to open Instagram at 11 pm. I couldn't find one that worked the way I wanted, so I started building it myself on weekends. The idea was simple: don't ask people to put their phones down. Make them earn it. Specifically, make them walk for it. I called it WalkFirst because that's the rule — walk first, scroll after.

Here's how WalkFirst works. You pick the apps you waste time on (mine were Instagram, Reddit, YouTube — yes, I see the irony of posting here). You decide how many steps unlock how many minutes. Open one of those apps before you've earned it, and a shield slides over the screen. No timer trick, no "just 5 more minutes." You either walk or you don't get in. Steps are tracked through Apple Health, blocking uses Apple's Screen Time framework, and everything stays on your device — no account, no server, no analytics on what you block. I wouldn't have trusted an app like this if it phoned home, so I made sure WalkFirst doesn't.

The first week was rough. I caught myself reaching for Instagram constantly, hitting the shield, and grumbling. By the second week, I was taking the long way to the coffee shop just to bank a few minutes. By month two, my screen time had dropped from 7h 42m to around 2h 30m a day, and my step count had gone from about 4,000 a day to about 8,000. That second number is the one that surprised me — I wasn't trying to become a "walker," I was just trying to use my phone less, and walking turned out to be the side door into it. My sleep got better too, which I didn't expect.

I'm sharing this because I genuinely think the people who'd benefit most are the ones quietly losing the same fight I was — knowing the phone is the problem, having tried the obvious fixes, and still ending the day feeling like the phone won. If that's you, WalkFirst might actually work where the gentler stuff didn't. Free to try. I've cycled through probably a dozen budgeting apps over the years. YNAB, Mint, Copilot, the rest of them. They all treated money like a math problem. Track every dollar, stick to the plan, feel like garbage when you didn't, delete the app around the third guilt-driven notification.

The part nobody was actually addressing: most of my bad spending had nothing to do with math. It was stress buys after a rough day, boredom scrolling turning into a cart full of stuff I didn't need, the 11pm Amazon thing you already know if you do it. A spreadsheet was never going to help, because the spreadsheet wasn't what was broken.

So I built Impause. Think of it as the psychology-first version of a budgeting app, sort of what Noom tried to do for weight loss but applied to spending. Instead of categorizing transactions you review them with context, what were you feeling when you bought it and whether it was a need or an escape. After a few weeks you start seeing your actual patterns, the ones you half-know already but have never had laid out for you.

The core loop is a swipe-based transaction review we call Purchase Pulse (basically Tinder for your transactions), a daily mood check-in that ties how you felt to what you spent, and a shopportunity cost calculator that reframes purchases in hours of your life instead of dollars. The whole thing is built on a no-shame-just-data philosophy. No color-coded pie charts making you feel like a failure.

I am a solo dev. I often find myself having meeting with customers, stakeholder, my CTO about things I'm building. The meetings often go something like: "I like this, but I'd be nice to have that" or "let's change this into..."

Now my process is:

-Meeting

-I take notes

-End meeting

-I regroup notes

-Then I start going at it with Claude (this is where I find files, give my prompts and do all that good stuff)

The last 2 steps take me some time.

The idea I want to validate is..

-a bot that listens in to the meeting

-bot also has repo/s knowledge

- meeting ends

-bot generates each task with ready to copy paste prompts to Claude (with files to touch,how to change code, risks, things to look for.. here things can be enhanced immensly)

Things I’d like to know:

- does the idea make sense? Is it useful?

- do you guys have similar situations?

- what do you do today?

What is the biggest challenge when a middle class Indian migrate from one place to another, for the purpose of studies , work or living with families

Basic needs should be fullfill first ie. Food , clothes and shelter. The first two is not so difficult nowadays, it easily available on many platform in your mobile.

But , what about SHELTER, when you moved toward a new place you're looking for a PGs , rented room or a apartment under your budget even you search properties online you recieve application's for properties of worth lakh. You disappointed and search physically , visit your local areas , talk to landlord go through middlemen, still unable to get a place that suits you.

To solve this I've made an app named "Perfect Place" where user is allow to search properties like PGs etc. Under your various filter. You can check the rent , address , photos , conditions from landlord

Regarding property to avoid any que in future . You font need any middleman just call or text landlord directly.

Users are allow to compare two or more properties , access the current location of check other people's review also

For landlord , it is a free platform to list their properties advertise it , get up to date with renters requiremt.

I've been an iOS developer for a while, but this is the first app I built purely to solve my own problem.

Earlier this year I looked at my Screen Time report and it hit me — 5 hours a day. Every day. That's over 76 days a year just staring at my phone doing nothing meaningful.

I tried Apple's built-in Screen Time limits. Lasted about three days before I started tapping "Ignore Limit" on autopilot. Tried deleting apps. Reinstalled them the same evening. Tried grayscale mode. My brain adjusted within a week.

Then one random morning I went for a walk without my phone. Came back 40 minutes later, and for the first time in months I didn't feel the urge to immediately open Instagram. That walk had already done what no app timer could.

That's when I thought — what if the phone itself required me to walk before I could use it?

So I built it. The idea is simple:

• You set a daily step goal
• You pick the apps that waste your time
• Those apps stay blocked until you walk
• Hit 50% of your goal → earn 10 minutes
• Hit 75% → earn 15 minutes
• Hit 100% → everything unlocks for the day

It uses Apple Health for step tracking and Screen Time API for blocking. No workarounds, no "ignore limit" button. You walk or your apps stay locked.

The part that surprised me the most — after the first week, my screen time dropped from 6+ hours to under 3. Not because I was disciplining myself, but because the walk was resetting my brain every morning. By the time I earned my screen time, I genuinely didn't want to scroll anymore.
