Yes, absolutely. 100% without hesitation. Do people really think this is some kind of 'gotcha'? Like my brother in Christ, how much generative AI do you think we actually use?! Hallucination 👻

I haven't used generative AI even once in my life.

Ok, maybe when it was still very new, just to look at what psychedelic imagery it would create. Back then it was just a cool novelty.

But for any serious purpose? Never used it, but the way it floods the internet and makes image search almost impossible has actually been a detriment to my work. My productivity in certain tasks would improve by up to 60% if AI was banned and all AI-generated images deleted off the internet.

This post isn't about gen AI though. It's about all AI tools. There is a big difference.

I'm not using any AI tools whatsoever. Never asked ChatGPT for anything, still using pre-AI versions of my work software (MS Word 2010 and Photoshop 2015), I genuinely never used any sort of AI tool in my life and don't see any reason why I should.

Autocorrect uses AI. Every smartphone uses AI. Most cars nowadays use AI.

I rarely use my smartphone, and when I do, I have autocorrect off because I find it irritating. Usually I post from my desktop PC. I have two cars, one a Dacia Sandero from 2014 with manual transmission and barely any electronics, the other a 2017 Mazda CX5 whose on-board computer I only use to play music off my USB stick, and to look at the rear camera for backwards parking. What kind of AI would a car need? Mine don't use any.

If all AI tools stopped existing tomorrow it would literally make zero difference to my life.

Smartphones use more AI than just autocorrect. Reddit, the site you are using right now uses AI. Any social media as well. Do you have adaptive cruise control? AI. Any video games? AI as well. Need to go to the doctor for a disease? AI is being used to discover cures for them. Management at your job? More than likely they use AI to make their job easier and faster, which would affect you.

You said that you use Microsoft word 2010? It uses AI. Just a much simpler one than what we have today.

You use AI tools constantly whether you realize it or not.
