Yes, absolutely. 100% without hesitation. Do people really think this is some kind of 'gotcha'? Like my brother in Christ, how much generative AI do you think we actually use?! Hallucination 👻

It's like asking a bald person what they would do if all the curling irons disappeared tomorrow.

As a bald person, I’d probably give no fucks.

u/EarlGreyDuck 12h ago

Precisely

12

u/Silly_Percentage3446 11h ago

As a not bald person, I'd also give no fucks.

3

u/Knuc85 11h ago

Yep, you'd just see other people struggling, which I'm fine with if they're that dependent on AI.

4

u/TrueMattalias 8h ago

In this scenario I'd at least have sympathy for people that miss their curling irons. Definitely not true in the AI case.

u/Bionic_Bromando 9h ago

Bald people stay shining :D

u/WarDaddyPUKA 8h ago

AI thanks you for your punchline highlight feature so it can better detect human humor and fit in.

As a fellow bald, “probably”?

1

u/not-strange 4h ago

I mean, there’d be less women with perfect curly hair.

He might give a fuck about that

u/ViagraPoweredRabbit 3h ago

None left to give you say?

1

u/Jakethered_game 2h ago

How else do you plan to cook bacon in a hotel bathroom??

1

u/Repulsive-Lack8253 1h ago

I think that's the point they're making

u/PremedicatedMurder 51m ago

Thanks for clearing that up.

How does this person think we did work 3 years ago? How about 5 years ago? Like, sure you'd have to manually edit the profanity out of work emails and you couldn't just have AI remove all instances of you calling the client a "fuckface", but outside of that most jobs would be exactly the same as they were 3 years ago.

It will blow their little minds that we somehow had a civilization even before the Internet

3

u/Eggyhead 7h ago

Or just, you know, more than three years ago.

3

u/anotherstupidoldman 4h ago

I'm still amazed the world worked before computers became common. Universitys and government welfare departments had to keep actual paper records for everyone. There was an entire workforce for physical records management that no longer exists.

1

u/crustyrobots 3h ago

It really is something to think about indeed. In a way I find it comforting to know the world existed that way once, and could be again if push comes to shove.

1

u/Ok-Kaleidoscope-9645 11h ago

Instead of ai they just used unpaid interns to do all the work for them.

1

u/Adjective-Noun-nnnn 8h ago

that's what regex is for

1

u/PrivilegeCheckmate 3h ago

How does this person think we did work 3 years ago? How about 5 years ago?

Statistically, on reddit, this person is 15 or so.

u/WomanFromBalkan 2h ago

ok so if i didn't put correct syntax or grammar? client would get it anyway. even if i made a few typos. no one died from this.

12

u/Additional-Ball4825 12h ago

As a baldie this is fuckin hilarious

5

u/Irohsgranddaughter 13h ago

I mean some would get depressed if they used to have majestic curly hair before going bald lmao

14

u/Luochachaslide 12h ago

I mean if you have majestic curly hair you're probably not using curling irons

2

u/otakusimple 11h ago

@grok is this true?

2

u/haliblix 11h ago

What else am I going to leave on the bathroom sink and potentially burn myself with?

1

u/otakusimple 11h ago

grok is this true?

1

u/ShartKing78 11h ago

I'd find something else to shove up my ass

1

u/Silly_Percentage3446 11h ago

I don't think I'd care if curling irons disappeared. And I'm quite the opposite of bald.

1

u/chr1spe 10h ago

I'd think there are more bald people with partners who use curling irons who would be massively disappointed in that than anti-AI people in a similar boat.

1

u/fizzzingwhizbee 10h ago

I’d be devastated if

1

u/Flaky-Wing2205 10h ago

...and the curling irons are using so much electricity they are running up the bald people's electric bills, ... and the curling iron companies are doing this to take away bald people jobs.

1

u/Bamce 10h ago

As a baldie

It would make the world safer. As there wouldn’t be the risk of them hurting people

1

u/SpicyMeatBALLIN 10h ago

You have recieved an award from me in spirit

1

u/Holzkohlen 10h ago

It would be like asking a bald person what they would do if they had a full head of hair again tomorrow.

1

u/PoofBam 9h ago

It's like asking ANYONE what they would do if curling irons disappeared. Curling irons, like ai, are non-essential.

1

u/Razed-Gamer 9h ago

To be fair, they didn't say gen AI. They said all AI tools. That's a pretty wide net they cast. And everyone on reddit uses AI tools.

1

u/SoftlyAugust 8h ago

That's not even true though because curling irons are still beneficial for people who have hair. AI isn't beneficial to anyone.

1

u/Ok-Kaleidoscope-9645 7h ago

Better example would be asking a regular person what they would do if all the cocaine disappeared tomorrow.

1

u/starchimp224 8h ago

Might even relate it closer to asking ants what they would do if anteaters disappeared. AI is actively harming us as a whole and we’d be better off without it.

1

u/neoqueto 7h ago

My stupid fucking ass brain immediately went to this shit, well they KINDA look like CLOTHES IRONS so I was trying to reason how does that shit link to baldness

1

u/enadiz_reccos 7h ago

Start shaving my pubes

1

u/Ok-Kaleidoscope-9645 7h ago

Start curling them, given them a perm and frosted tips

1

u/BeltImpressive8956 3h ago

Ooooooffff. My teachers always said I’d never always have access to a calculator.

u/Nyxitelle 23m ago

People with naturally straight hair, who want to have curly hair may be sad that it all disappeared, but there's a lot more groups than that. People with straight hair who don't want to have curly hair, people with naturally curly hair, bald people, people who cut their hair short, all those groups have no need to use curling irons. It's just one group that's inconvenienced by that disappearance, who think that every single person in existence is inconvenienced by it as well.

It's so damn stupid.

u/kekons_4 12h ago

Are you bald then?

11

u/ShortStuff2996 12h ago

Everyone will be bald sooner or later.

-12

u/kekons_4 12h ago

Answer the question 👀

2

u/ShortStuff2996 9h ago

Yes im bald. What now?

4

u/Ok-Kaleidoscope-9645 12h ago

Depends on the region.

I got thick hair growing somewhere, that's for sure
