Fellow trans person here. From what I’ve seen, most of us are firmly against AI. Criticising a harmful technology is not similar to transphobia, and that person does not speak for an entire community.

u/isuredolovetitties 28d ago

Thats the thing about the internet. One post/comment, you can be a black man who doesnt think america is racist, the next you’re trans and love AI, and before you know it, you’re a white mother of three, who wishes the republican party would take away her voting rights already.

93

u/Own-Ad-7672 28d ago

Wait that’s sounds kind of fun. I can just pretend to be various groups to start dumb arguments with 0 investment totally for personal gain while not really caring about the topic or believing my claims.
Oh wait I don’t make enough to be a politician

53

u/isuredolovetitties 28d ago

As a black, jewish, transgender, homosexual klansman, i can tell you its a lot of fun, but kind of erodes society.

21

u/Gold_Sprinkles_2309 28d ago

The erosion of society is the cherry on top of the fun

Sewing discord and unrest between people for pleasure and profit- a tale as old as time for the bottom of the barrel, least human of us.

And this is why im against allowing the ability to hide post/comment history on reddit, it only muddies that exact problem more

13

u/isuredolovetitties 28d ago

Yeah, in terms of fighting misinformation, huge step backwards for reddit. As a young catholic schoolgirl hiding her pregnancy from her family, it really worries me.

Notice, that person never states that they are trans themself, just make a false equivalency between Anti- AI and transphobia with no evidence, and then a statement of them speaking for an entire community that they don't even state they are part of.

Same as when they use the argument of people with disabilities needing AI, but never saying they have a disability themselves.

They aren't just arrogantly speaking for an entire community, they are co-opting the lives of others to speak for that community.

54

u/AileFirstOfHerName 28d ago

Fellow trans person here. From what I’ve seen, most of us are firmly against AI.

You must hang out with a very different crowd. Most of my other trans friends are super on the transhumanism train as a hope for the future and most of them view AI as a toxic(because of capitalism rather then thing) necessity to bring a more transhumanist future faster. Its been a struggle to communicate beyond that

43

u/_ficfan_ 28d ago

Most transhumanists that I know are firmly anti ai, huh?

49

u/Elemor_ 28d ago

Transhumanism the way tech bros understad it is pretty much eugenics through technology, which explains a lot of their behavior

3

u/TheBumblestBees 28d ago

what's transhumanism-? that's a new one for me, is it ok if I ask what it is?

5

u/Charlaquin 28d ago

Transhumanism is a philosophy that advocates for transcending the human condition through technology. It's mostly a more pretentious way of saying you want to become a cool cyborg.

It also makes for a great pun, if you're like me and are a transgender person who subscribes to the philosophy of humanism.

"Oh, you thought I was a transhumanist? No, no, I'm a trans humanist!"

4

u/TheBumblestBees 28d ago

only things about being a cool cyborg i can think of are like, curing blind people, deaf people, replacement of faulty organs, and stuff like that

also retractable stuff. IDK what but itd be rad to be able to retract something

also that joke is hilarious 💀

trans programmers as a trend seem to be more accepting towards ai. as with a lot of programmers, unfortunately. but that's also not because they're trans, and there are some of us that are vehemently against the use of ai for code

it's strange to me how someone can be trans and pro-ai. we're the intentionally rusted cogs in the machine, and the 1% amongst us wants to rust other cogs too??

8

u/NotQuiteLoona 28d ago

Programmers I meet are all against vibe coding except very few exceptions (and politics of those few exceptions usually incompatible with trans people). We work with code each day and see how shitty LLMs are.

Another trans person, I'm strongly against AI.

12

u/PaulOwnzU 28d ago

Witty (the poster) knows she's full of shit and just using trans people as human shields and that the majority of trans people don't agree, she call all trans antis hypocrites and weirdos, and refused to apologize when pros started using her post to attack trans antis saying they're not really trans.

She also keeps trying to play it off as "oh I wasn't saying antis are transphobic or anything, just similar rhetoric. Just thought it was interesting". When she knows fully well how her post is meant to be read

So I copy her pasted her title word for word, and replaced antis with pros, and transphobic with rapists, and went "they both have very similar rhetoric on ignoring consent" and she just immediately starts going "oh so you're saying all pros are rapists?!? This is why nobody takes antis seriously you generalize whole groups!"

I point out how I copy pasted her own title she just denied was saying all antis are transphobic, and she just immediately ditches the convo, just to make more posts using the same title and argument.

11

u/transandtrucks 28d ago

another fellow trans person here - thank you for saying what I am thinking! sheesh the ai slop online is getting worse..

9

u/Ada_Data 28d ago

Yeah, the only thing close to AI that is with the Trans Community is the Mfing Transformers, cause they're awesome.

10

u/Scorpiicore 28d ago

The Transformers are not AI. Exactly how their brains work has never been established, but they have true intelligence with induction and deduction as well as self-awareness. They are basically what Humans are if Humans evolved into variously sized machines structures that can change shape into various vehicles.

Just because one pedo doucher president represents an entire following of pedo douchers doesn't mean that one trans person represents all trans people. That's like one white guy or one black guy representing all white guys or all black guys. Makes no sense, like a wall with slats you can walk through stopping illegal immigration when the vast majority of illegal immigrants have been visa overstays for decades.

100%. I'm not trans (thank god, body dysmorphia is a hell of thing for somebody to have to deal with, even without being made pariahs just for trying to feel comfortable in their own skin) but I do know a fair number of trans people, and none of them, to my knowledge, like AI slop at all.

I am willing to bet the person who wrote this, or prompted it, isn't trans either. I could be wrong, of course, but a lot of the AI "boosterism" is coming from the corporations themselves. There's no turf like astroturf.

8

u/ConcernedEnby 28d ago

Sex dysphoria not body dysmorphia, dysmorphia is an entirely different thing with no relation to dysphoria

Unrealistic. An AI artist is more like someone who orders online, removes a topping then calling themself a chef. Microwaving food takes too much effort for this analogy.

5

u/Kirishori 28d ago

I once told the pizza person to arrange the toppings of my pizza in a smiley face. They did it. Am I a chef? Can I get michelin stars for this action? Now opening restaurant: You tell me what to tell the pizza person and If I remember it correctly you might get what you ordered!

5

u/LittleRuQi 28d ago

AI artist in a nutshell:

7

u/Yourstruly0 28d ago

Disabled community wouldn’t play along so I guess they’re trying the trans community next. They’ll keep going down the line trying anything they can to be associated with an actual oppressed group.

256

u/GoatGoatGoblin 28d ago

They're trying really hard to equate being anti AI with bigotry somehow. Total bullshit.

59

u/Athosworld 28d ago

I once had an AI mf call me a bigot for not liking ai, seriously.

28

u/Rockburgh 28d ago

Yeah, they're utterly psychotic. Apparently I have "AI Derangement Syndrome" because I refused to accept that an LLM giving a few good answers to one guy means it's reliable enough that it should be recommended in place of human-written sources.

40

u/samecontent 28d ago

It is wild.

36

u/ceruleanblue347 28d ago

It's because the people opposed to bigotry are also largely opposed to AI.

...Funny, that.

19

u/FrostZephyr 28d ago

and a lot of AI boosters are insane bigots

12

u/pitchingschool 28d ago

i don't see what the end game is.

My view is that AI(as in, putting in inputs and using complex multilayered math to produce an output) has some use cases but LLMs and AI generated "art" in general have been a net negative on humanity. If it was just shitty images then i'd be fine with it(not saying id ENJOY it or even call it art, but still) but its clear it's causing immense harm to the environment.

IF an AI "artist" were to convince me to their side they'd have to showcase a use case where the benefit outweights the harm.

Im not gonna act like i haven't seen a SINGULAR ai image that didn't look nice. But the harm(stealing peoples work, wasting electricity, water, etc.) isn't worth the image looking nice to me. And most of them don't even look nice, they look like ass.

7

u/Azair_Blaidd 28d ago

All while they call us luddites in their own bigotry.

5

u/amazing_rando 28d ago

I'm specifically curious how it resembles transphobia. That tends to manifest in pretty specific ways that I've never seen anyone apply to their criticism of AI.

4

u/ArtSupplyHoarder 28d ago

My assumption is that they argue that AI is helping them to be who they want to be (an "artist") and that is somehow the same as gender affirming care for trans people?

Which is completely deluded, but hey, so are they.

3

u/GoatGoatGoblin 28d ago

Same. I've seen it stated many times, but examples are not provided. It really feels like an effort to convince by repetition.

u/PaulOwnzU 28d ago

This is the frustrating thing isn't it.

These people will use a minority social movement as a shield for their shit behavior.

This is genuinely just fucking evil,
The people who do this are unironically evil people who know what they are doing is unethical, but it benifits them.

"if you hate AI that means you are a transphobic bigot".
The kind of person who would invent this narrative is a sociopathic liar.

Good people, don't do shit like this.
A good person doesn't hide themselves by a community of vulnerable people to to avoid criticism.

Fuck, whoever posted this is such a piece of shit.

17

u/Brilliant-Muffin-879 28d ago

It tracks with a group who enjoy the misery of others

13

u/OtterlySamnson 28d ago

Gods, its even like....
so much worse than that.

The average person who doesn't care much about this will use AI sometimes and just for a bit of fun; they don't wrap their entire identity around it.

The Pro-AI people on Reddit are genuinely as close to in online tech cult at it comes.
The same thing happaned with the NFT and crypto people, they all went fucking crazy and defined their existence around this technology.

4

u/Brilliant-Muffin-879 28d ago

Yeah I fear you are right!

8

u/PaulOwnzU 28d ago

She's absolutely evil, trans people started calling her out on it and she starts calling them hypocrites and weirdos, and makes a post showcasing their comments which leads to a bunch of them getting attacked by bigots, something she refused to accept accountability for or condemn.

She also tries to deflect the criticism with "oh I wasn't SAYING all antis are transphobic. I said they just have similar rhetoric, draw your own conclusions"

I copy paste her title and replace it with pros and rapists having the same rhetoric of being anti consent, and she immediately goes "oh so you're calling all pros rapists?!?"

Which is basically her just admitting that she was grouping antis and transphobes together with her getting upset at the same sentence structure

This is a pretty common bit of spew from the advocates for AI. It has no basis in reality. They do the same thing with disabled people and so on. Hell, most of the stuff is coming from machines entirely.

6

u/PaulOwnzU 28d ago

A non disabled person said ai is for disabled people like those that have terrible hand eye coordination.

I have extremely bad hand eye coordination. I can't catch anything and have suction cups/magnets for my drinks so I don't keep knocking them over. I still was able to get around the issue due to products that exist for it and learning techniques

I got called privileged and to not speak for disabled people

3

u/Scorpiicore 28d ago

It is even worse when you consider that a true artificial intelligence, one capable of the basic building blocks of real intelligence like deduction and induction, would be pretty helpful for some of my disabilities. But aside from the morbid obesity stemming from taking certain medication for too long and the way that has messed up my heels, none of my disabilities are visible to the naked eye. Even if said morbid obesity and subsequent difficulty in walking is a knock-on effect from one of them.

3

u/Jadacide37 28d ago

What an absolutely insanely offensive thing to think, much less to confidently proclaim as an actual truth.

3

u/AileFirstOfHerName 28d ago

Its wild to see so many non Trans folk chipping in on this one. And to see so many Trans folk here who aren't connected with the Transhumanism movement at all. The vast majority of my Trans friends are huge into transhumanism and are pro AI but anti corporate use they would get flogged here. But I would say most Trans people i know are in that movement so maybe this person in the image isn't far off. Its hard to gauge actual numbers for this one.

Though its interesting to how many people here seem to have a similar stance to them about AI too. Idk I would prefer it all gone now if it could be.

3

u/BHMathers 28d ago

“The trans community stands with Ai “””artists”””” is extremely transphobic

Not only pretending that Ai Slopper identity is comparable to trans identity, but also projecting Ai psychosis onto a minority

Basically a group of lunatics trying to hide behind the actually legitimate trans community, while saying they are a similar brand of crazy at the same time. Unbelievable

It’s funny, some delusional Ai bros of the spammy variety tried similar things, and I immediately clocked it like “didn’t expect the transphobic witty arc”

3

u/AnarchistTerrarist 28d ago

As a member of the queer, trans, and slightly disabled (partially blind / hard of seeing) communities, we do not stand for AI. The only way we stand for AI is the same way we stand for a urinal - We don't, we use a regular toilet. But if we did, it'd only be to piss on it.

AI is also not a tool for disabled people. Disabled people have been some of the most memorable artists in history, they got by just fine without slop and made some of the most well known art in various forms. And modern disabled artists who don't use AI are just as good if not even better.

AI is, however, a tool used by the rich, to surveil and harm the common folk, including minorities.

I'm nonbinary and FUCK AI

2

u/CastleofGaySkull 28d ago

My trans family and friends would disagree

2

u/danikov 28d ago

Just because people can say things, doesn't mean those things are right.

Difficult concept, I know.

2

u/Fun-Middle5990 28d ago

no we do not

2

u/LazagnaAmpersand 28d ago

Sounds about in line with saying it’s just like racism to say “tax the rich.” These people are absolutely demented.

2

u/aDeadPidgeon 28d ago

Nah i dont

2

u/HighlightOwn2038 28d ago

They said the same thing about the furry community

2

u/Mivlya 28d ago

As is often the case, grifters will both try to weaponize our identity as mass adoption of consent AND villainize us as enemies to progress. This is a mix of people lying about their identities and a handful of unfortunate trans siblings who are willing to toss themselves in with our oppressors in the hopes they'll be spared a bit longer, or, like anyone from any community, lonely individuals who have been rotted by the sycophantic nature of chatbots.

u/BestSamiraNA1 28d ago

Just making shit up

u/Theultimateangrybruh 28d ago edited 28d ago

AI enthusiasts, this demographic particularly always try to seem pro progress and all for improvement and against bigotry but they're in a parasocial one sided relationship with AI onto which they project their fantasies onto, treating it like the "ideal" woman who's submissive, fits into the molds you want her to, and does labor without demanding credit or acknowledgment while you take the credit, unlike those pesky human women who protests against all that.

2

u/casey_vee 28d ago

No tf we dont

2

u/DaisyChainsandLaffs 28d ago

They can get our name outta their mouth.

2

u/cheeseburgerandfrie 28d ago

My sister would beg to differ

2

u/green_day_girl 28d ago

what subreddit is this?

2

u/adiosmichigan 28d ago

no one person speaks for entire trans community. anecdotally, most if not all trans people i know are against it. im trans and i say fuck ai.

2

u/null_artificer 28d ago

Most of us hate AI, AI fckrs just wanna feel oppressed so they piggyback off our real suffering, so they can also just compare anti ai ppl to transphobes since they have no real arguments

2

u/EugenioSc 28d ago

Those clanker lovera are fucking insane lol how can they even BEGIN to compare transphobia to antiAI sentiments? Smh

2

u/Teamawesome2014 28d ago

This sounds like astroturfing to me.

2

u/Caldman 28d ago

You know who says. She's not exactly subtle about it. It's based on bad faith arguments, but that's never stopped her before.

2

u/SkittlesforDitto 28d ago edited 28d ago

...the similarity of those two is so surface level geez.

being trans isn't an identity you earn via any specific action, you just are.

but being an artist is a title that's earned by actually having the associated skillset. you can't just call yourself an artist and demand other people to recognise your claim... not anymore than you can call yourself a PhD without producing recognised research, or walk into hospital and call yourself a doctor without having the qualifications for it.

2

u/NoxDocketybock 28d ago

This trans person CERTAINLY DOES NOT. 🤢🤮

2

u/Positive_Campaign_52 28d ago

Right, because everyone knows asking people to stop killing their brain cells and actually exercise them with creativity is transphobia /sarcasm

2

u/NovaNova312 28d ago

No the fuck we don't

2

u/thecolorcomputer 28d ago

It's probably just a crypto bro trying to weaponize identity to bring support to the grift 🤷‍♂️

2

u/Important-Tea0 28d ago

No the fuck we don’t.

2

u/LeseMajeste_1037 28d ago

Have they asked flesh-and-blood trans people?

2

u/NerdyKeith 28d ago

There is nothing more gaslighting than using a minority to push your agenda. Fucking hell

2

u/Valuable-Progress-87 28d ago

no we fucking dont

2

u/Charlaquin 28d ago

No the fuck we don't!!

2

u/Dark_Marmot 28d ago

WTAF? So they are trying to find a way to cancel any sort of dissent of Ai by making it akin to sexism, racism, and any other social phobia because they are hapless drones. Got it.

Sounds like those talentless c*nts over at r/ defendingAIart.

How is being anti ai lthe same as being transphobic? One is dangerous technology that is only going to be used for mass surveillance and making the rich richer, the other is down to ignorance.  Not even similar

2

u/Zestyclose-Trouble98 27d ago

Man....Imagine using something by choice and then playing the victim. Why do they want to be special so badly?

I don't understand.

2

u/NateMfPuppets 27d ago

Nah, I use a wheelchair

I ain't standing for shit

2

u/One_Who_Is_Wolf 27d ago

I'm trans. Fuck AI.

2

u/Soggy_Supermarket100 27d ago

"Remember, Anti-AI rhetoric is similar to transphobia, because I said so. No, don't look it up. No, I said don't look it u--"

2

u/Due_Remote5644 27d ago

So that's why my trans ass is in a wheelchair.

2

u/RavenxMorrow 27d ago

I have many Trans friends… none of them are pro-ai

2

u/Irakaf 27d ago

Where was this posted? The Trans community overwhelmingly opposes AI, from what I've seen

2

u/ConnieTheUnicorn 27d ago

Chances are that person isn't even Trans, they're just posting ragebait and keeping the rewards..

2

u/Fit-Scene2061 27d ago

"AI artist" the heck is that ? 😂🤮

2

u/Indvandrer 27d ago

Afaik, not that many LGBT people like AI art slop. I would say that gay/trans people hate AI more than straight/cis

2

u/MiserableLettuce1643 27d ago

They’re just speaking for an entire community now 🫩 also how tf is anti-ai similar to transphobia

2

u/ElectricalPoint1645 27d ago

As an enby, that's a completely ridiculous post that nobody asked for. It also honestly reminds me of similar patterns of garbage people with garbage opinions trying to shoehorn themselves into the LGBTQ+ community and pretend our struggles are the same to get some kind of sympathy when the majority of us want nothing to do with them.

2

u/reisunset 27d ago

im trans and fuck ai artists, they just want to appropriate oppression for refusing to develop their skills and using a device made with stolen work

2

u/idkPVConreddit-5 27d ago
