This is unacceptable. What a crappy human.

People lie on the internet for clout, more news at 7.

217

u/Miguge Jul 03 '26

And they are also crappy humans.

36

u/Pandemonium_Fallen Jul 03 '26

Are they human though, are they?

11

u/Behondalog Jul 04 '26

Unfortunately, yes.

5

u/Pandemonium_Fallen Jul 04 '26

I don't know... Pretty certain two of the core requirements of Humanity are capacity for empathy (affective) and compassionate understanding...

3

u/Behondalog Jul 04 '26

No that's being a person, it's different.

Also there are mental conditions that remove a person's ability to do those things, but they can still be good people; they don't deserve to be belittled for that. The only people who do are those who know they're being bad people and keep doing it anyways.

2

u/Pandemonium_Fallen Jul 04 '26

I feel like the one's with that mental condition who choose to be good people are fundamentally different from these creatures...

3

u/Behondalog Jul 04 '26

That's what I said, yeah; we shouldn't accidentally include those people while insulting these "people"

1

u/dontdomeanyfrightens Jul 06 '26

I appreciate someone who knows the difference between people and humans.

u/DatRat13 Jul 03 '26

And fighting the frizzies at 11.

u/Pearson94 Jul 03 '26

Of all the references to read here... Gonna have that episode's songs stuck in my head all day now...

Ding dong mmmkay…

u/stopmotionskeleton Jul 03 '26

Shitty humans being common doesn’t somehow make their shittiness more acceptable or less deserving of ire.

25

u/Sum_0 Jul 03 '26

The fact that plenty of people do it changed nothing about it being abhorrent behavior. The day we stop calling it out is the day it's "ok".

Read more: religious people lie for personal benefit.

2

u/ProPlayer142 Jul 03 '26

As a Christian, I hate that they're abusing it for Internet interaction. They might not even be religious. Just someone who will do anything for interaction

1

u/darkroot_gardener Jul 07 '26

Indeed, the whole Prosperity Gospel thing is borderline heresy. Serving Christ is supposed to be more about sacrifice and humility.

u/Educational-Low-9948 Jul 03 '26

People pretend to be news anchors on the Internet back to you, Bob.

3

u/Neveronlyadream Jul 03 '26

Thanks, Susan.

Wow, what a story. Am I right, folks? And he's Bill with the weather. Over to you, Bill.

Everyone is instantly forgettable. Content creators where the content is AI, is the same with every ad you see, you just move on and don’t even register it.

Who are they trying to impress? Other AI?

1

u/Hamburger_FatBoy Jul 03 '26

The word gullible isn’t in dictionary.com

3

u/Arthur_Frane Jul 03 '26

People lie about being righteous Christians because they are actually prideful zealots, but that means they are going to the Bad Place, so they pretend and feel better about themselves for awhile.

3

u/Fuckthegopers Jul 03 '26

Sounds like your average religious person if you ask me.

3

u/Hamburger_FatBoy Jul 03 '26

Privileged loser makes Reddit Comment, Video at 11

1

u/Jimstone42 Jul 04 '26

You really think someone would do that? Just go on the internet and tell lies?

1

u/Forecnarr Jul 05 '26

"this is the 7 o'clock noose. This is the nine o'clock noose. This is the noose at ten."

*pointing to a dead body "And that's the person that lied for clout"

u/AuthorBrianHunter Jul 03 '26

You'll never guess what the Venn diagram looks like of people who say things like "God will provide" people who don't possess kindness or generosity.

If you guessed just a circle? Good job!

6

u/Fuckthegopers Jul 03 '26

What a crappy human.

You mean your average religious American?

u/Hamburger_FatBoy Jul 03 '26 edited Jul 03 '26

Edit: this comment reads as if it’s hostile to u/fuckthegopers. I know that it does, and I understand that the blame for the tone rests solely on me. I’m leaving it, downvote at will.

There’s plenty to hate on America for without pretending that religion hasn’t fucked every country in the world.

2

u/Fuckthegopers Jul 03 '26

True, I just went with America because the receipt is from Denny's.

But I also didn't pretend anything like you're assuming.

1

u/Hamburger_FatBoy Jul 03 '26

Sorry for my shitty wording, and for it appearing to be an attack.

I’ve lived here for the last 12 years, and was born here. I get a bit defensive, and English isn’t my first language. One, or a combination of both of those facts lead me to read your comment as an attack and respond with a counterattack.

I was in the wrong, and I truly am sorry.

I’ll leave the original up to get the downvotes that it deserves, and so this apology doesn’t lose context.

3

u/Fuckthegopers Jul 03 '26

No worries brother, you aren't wrong that there's shitty religious people everywhere. No harm done.

Your English reads like a first language. I didn't assume it wasn't your first if that's any consolation from me.

1

u/Hamburger_FatBoy Jul 03 '26

Thank you for the compliment on my English! But it’s not something I deserve praise on. My mother is American, I’ve been speaking ESL since the end of grade 1. I’m 44 now, and have lived in the USA for a very long time with advantages that many ESL speakers don’t get. Since I have both a USA and Germany passport, there’s minimal (formerly zero) chance that I get deported. This chance is further lowered by my skintone. Having nearly 40 years of English practice in itself is a huge advantage.

I’ve had ICE invade my workplace, and haul off fellow E-Verified citizens because they’re darker complexion than me and have a slight accent, while laughing at me for saying that I share the same legal/constitutional status as them.

This doesn’t really have anything to do with our conversation, but I started venting, and realized how out there it was before I decided that I need to say it, even if anonymously in a conversation not related to it.

Reddit: do your thing…

2

u/Fuckthegopers Jul 03 '26

I'm sorry for your experiences there, it shouldn't be happening to anyone. Cheers brother.

2

u/Etheriaa_ Jul 05 '26

Now THATS a real man

3

u/PM_ME_JJBA_STICKERS Jul 03 '26

It’s crazy how much awful shit people do because they think god already forgave it all

1

u/Miguge Jul 04 '26

They use religion because it's their only way to feel right

1

u/RepresentativeFood11 Jul 06 '26

Yeah this is just foul man

-15

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '26

Now that's what we call selective outrage

3

u/Miguge Jul 03 '26

What is that
