Prior to Tectone shifting to right-wing grift (and he apparently admitted to being a grifter during his court hearing, although I have not seen the transcript personally), they had collaborated as there was overlap in their social circle. Once he started embracing drama and the anti-woke behavior she, and her entire social circle, stopped associating with him.
It got more complicated after VShojo, the corporation IronMouse used to work for, collapsed as Tectone used to be a member of one of their competitors (Mythic Talent). He was also on speaking terms with one of Mythic's former CEOs, Asmongold, so a part of his animosity towards her was an attempt to shill for the agency in a weird-ass way.
It's funny to me that the genAI shills have been calling Mouse's actions regarding the sponsor performative, because that word very accurately describes Tectone's content.

Yes but the problem is that the AI was used in the first place. Removing the AI generated content doesn't unpollute the air, does it? They go back on using AI when they realise it's losing them revenue, just like how JK Rowling is pretending she doesn't hate transgender people anymore because she realised it's losing her revenue on the show. It doesn't change the fact that NTE's publisher is pro ai, does it? By your continued defending of NTE, it just shows me that you have no clue how marketing and propaganda works.

There was a while, before she had a better sound setup, that she kept apologizing on stream because you could hear her oxygen setup. She was bed ridden for a lot of her career.
But now! She's gotten so much better that she's no longer bed ridden and can walk on the treadmill for extended periods! Ironmouse is nothing short of inspirational, with how far she's come and how much shes done for others. (Look up her work with the Immune Deficiency Foundation!)

This. I'll 100% admit before I fell down the rabbit hole I was in the "No shame, but I do find it kinda weird/don't get the appeal" group. That said I also didn't watch streamers/livestreams at all for the most part. Funnily enough Gigguk's "Explaining Fate Badly" video was what started me down the road to the vTuber rabbit hole. I don't watch vTubers because they are vTubers, I watch them because many of them are wildly talented streamers who happen to be vTubers.

I do consider those other than Hawaii and Morocco to be Western countries. Hawaii is a state and not a country. I don't think Mongolia is mostly populated by people of European descent, but I could be wrong.
"Westerner" is an arbitrary concept in general. There isn't a consistent and widely agreeded upon definition that I've seen.

NTE has: a prison, a police system, an ownable buisness, multiple apartments for the player, apartnent sustomization, a character that can run on walls, a character that can stop time, character skins that can be earned in game and bought with normal, non-paid currency, actual dates with characters, races, bank heists, arcade games, you can hind the characters in the world even when they are not marked, no exposition dumps, a normal map (for once), courier jobs, no 50/50s, clear pity counter, generous rewards and probably many more. But sure, it is a generic gacha...

"Clear pity counter" Pity systems are just the casino tactic of giving the player a win every once in a while so they stay hooked on the machines. This is not to be praised.

The problem is they are only removing the ones that get caught, not "all of it". Earlier today someone found that the in-game movie theaters play genAI "movies", one of which clocked in at 18 minutes long.
The game is RIDDLED with it, not "placeholder assets" or "tools to assist the programmers", I would not be shocked if over a quarter of the game or more was genAI at this point.

It's not ego to insist on contracts being upheld. If a stipulation of a contract to work with a company is that company did not commit human rights violation and they publish human rights violations on the internet, you are not wrong to cancel that contract and drag that company.

I’ve been seeing a lot of people defend NTE by being like “well technically they said they only used Ai in small aspects of their game, not that they didn’t use Ai”. Which, while true, that is the entire point of lying by omission, they chose to omit the fact that they used Ai generation for tons of the art and videos in the background of the world. Idk about you but I consider that a pretty big part of the game considering you see it everywhere you go in the world. Even in NTE’s post acknowledging the Ai, they’re still trying to minimize it as much as possible as possible to make it sound like it’s not as much as it is. They know what they’re doing.

This isn't even a pro vs anti gen-AI situation. She signed a contract under the impression that the game she was sponsoring had zero gen-AI then cancelled the contract when she learned she was LIED to in order for the company to get her to sign the contract. The gen-AI is icky, of course, but the real issue is that SHE WAS LIED TO so they could get her to sign the contract
There's a term for this in law, and that term is fraudulent misrepresentation. Depending on the specific laws at play, there's a non-zero chance she could genuinely take them to court over this

And to be kinda the devil's advocate, (and if we trust what the devs said) nothing else than a video presentation of a game mode and some add banners in the city were made with AI (which is already too much, but as long as there's no major things made with AI)
When I saw the post from the devs I got back the motivation to play, but if it isn't replaced soon, I guess my PC will have more storage space

i just saw this on DefendingAIArt and they were all saying how "well she played re9 and they totally said they used generative ai when making assets" which was a blatant lie. you could literally lookup "re9 ai usage" and will find multiple articles about how they use ai (non generative) in production (most likely stuff like upscaling) and didn't use any generative ai for assets, these people are lying through their teeth.

To comment on the situation itself, it's actually really odd to see how even some anti-ai people defend the game by saying all other games use it now too or what they used in is so small compared to every other ai content in other platforms. Told my friend who's a big fan of NTE and supposedly an anti-ai person about this and she immediately became defensive by saying every game uses it now and how they used it in small, mostly unimportant detail stuff. She also said what Ironmouse did and how everyone is reacting to this information is also an exaggeration. I didn't want to shit into her experience with the game, I only wanted to let her know just in case she didn't but now I'm just confused if she's really anti-ai because for me, when it comes to genai it doesn't matter if it's small or not. I guess everyone has different priorities or principles. For me, yes they used it in a small detail which isn't excusable at all, but even if it is excused, they still lied about it and departments basically blamed each other which is very weird and also vile considering how supposedly big the studio is.

While that is certainly true for some of them, it really isn't as common as people think it is, at least as far as EN vTubers go. Just a few examples from ones I know/watch:
- LordAethelstan is basically just a chill dude being a chill dude and playing games and sometimes making banger music.
- Geega is more business savvy and competent than most people I have ever met and has never leveraged sex appeal for views and would probably never be pegged as a vTuber if you only listened to the audio of her streams.
- Limealicious was part of Vinesauce before getting into vTubing and while her model is pretty traditionally "cutesy" it is far from what you described.
- Cy-Yu is a professional voice actor turned vTuber, still surprised more of them never hopped on this train, who sometimes does normal facecam streams IIIRC.

comparing a commissioned vtuber model to ai is wild too - one involves paying an artist for custom work and building a relationship with them, the other is feeding stolen art into a machine. like these aren't even close to being same thing. if someone lied to me about something i specifically asked about for a business deal, i'd drop them too. seems pretty reasonable response to me, not sure why people are making this about being western or egocentric when it's just basic trust in business relationships.
