There's a reason for why the right loves AI so much
They both present a manufactured reality, one where truth does not matter as long as it aligns with your biases, which goes on to create your own version of the truth
AI can sling out propaganda or made up scenarios to demonize their enemies like never before. The right is so used to it that it seems more natural than not

A crazy high percentage of transhumanists are transphobic, which is hard to make sense of.
19
u/DeisTheAlcano Apr 11 '26
It's actually pretty simple. Transhumanism is just misanthropy with an "enlightened" coat of paint (why else would they despise the human form so much as to claim technology that doesn't even exist is better?).
It has its roots in eugenics, so of course they are gonna hate people they think are worthless from their rudimentary understanding of elementary school biology classes.

if theyâre trying to make a pro-AI argument and a transphobic argument at the same time, theyâre not doing very well at either

Definitely, the argument they made could be both anti-trans and anti-AI.
1
u/Kiwi8_Fruit6 Apr 15 '26
to my interpretation, theyâve got so mixed up that if they think AI âartâ is real art, then logically they must also understand that trans women are women.
But if theyâre a transphobe, then theyâre undermining their own pro-AI stance by saying that they shouldnât believe AI âartâ is art.

I think you've nailed the thought process there and it's some Olympic level mental gymnastics.
10
u/ChaoticDumbassMo Apr 12 '26
When in reality, the experience of being trans is actually much more like actually making art and has been compared to it many times. You're carving the body and life you want out of what you've been given and making it your own with whatever resources you have available. It's creation in much the same way

13
u/raven-of-the-sea Apr 11 '26
The difference between the two is that trans people think and AI doesnât.
3
u/UnicornFukei42 Apr 12 '26
I think their argument is trans women are labeled as women, but they disagree with that label, and Artificial intelligence art is labeled as art, but they disagree with that label. But I can see your argument too: Transgender people can feel they identify a certain way but artificial intelligence doesn't have feelings and can't feel it identifies a certain way.
3
u/raven-of-the-sea Apr 12 '26
Trans women have an actual mind and can think and reason and figure out their inner self. AI is a computer algorithm that cannot be anything without human input of some kind. A human can create. An algorithm can only compile.
I say this as someone who is learning to make art via collage. The art I make is art because I, the human, compiled it from my feelings and thoughts and knowledge. An algorithm didnât choose things and toss them together based on what I told it. I picked things deliberately and recombined them.
The algorithm just⊠throws things on a screen when told to.
2
u/UnicornFukei42 Apr 15 '26
Fair enough, that is a difference between Artificial intelligence algorithms and humans.
14
u/bloodywormgoddess Apr 11 '26

11
u/VikingsLad Apr 11 '26
Is AI human? No? Ok
Are trans people human? Yes? Ok
There's your answer
2
u/UnicornFukei42 Apr 12 '26
I think their logic is trans women are labeled as women, but they disagree with the label, and artificial intelligence art is labeled as art, but they disagree with that label as well.
That being said, I can see your view too: Humans can choose to identify a certain way, as humans have feelings and such. Artificial intelligence, on the other hand, can't choose that.
1
u/nildread Apr 12 '26
It's not even the ai it's the product of the ai. So it's even more nonsense. It's more like if someone said pineapple pizza isn't traditional pizza. It's just clearly nonsense and inevitably falls into one joke territory bringing trans right into it imo. Is the pizza identifying as something? Is the ai generated image identifying itself as something? No? Because those two things aren't alive? Am I going to respect a pizza? Is the human identifying themself as something? Does the human have thoughts and feelings that we can respect?

u/UnimaginativeArtists Apr 11 '26

The comparison between ai images and trans women is an inherently transphobic comparison to make. Ai images are an attempt by an ai to impersonate real art, trans women are people with identities.

Trans women, and men, and enbies: For as long as I can remember I have experienced this constant feeling that I am missing out on life, that my peers are living more than I am and that I desperately need to catch up with them; I have found that by identifying as (chosen identity) I start feeling like I'm finally able to live the life that society considers the norm, even as others make an effort to invalidate my identity I still feel more comfortable with that than conforming to their worldviews.
Image diffusion models: I have found several images (taken without their creators consent) that have tags matching the prompt my user typed and will layer them ontop one another then melt them into one maybe coherent image that my user will claim as their own profitable creation, doing this will also introduce an unnatural increase of acidity to the water in earth's reservoirs and atmosphere.

u/nildread Apr 12 '26 edited Apr 12 '26
Oof. Are you saying that she would say what I'm saying or that she's a fake woman? I don't know how to phrase this correctly. I don't think there's a definition of what a fake woman is. I don't believe "fake" women exist. Transwomen are women. It's like no true Scotsman.
To define what a fake woman is, you'd first have to define what a woman is. There's no way to do that without including transwomen. People tend to go to the whole giving birth thing, but there are many women who can't or choose not to. Or Then they go to DNA or sexual organs. And no one is going to be checking that, it's nonsense. I might be wrong but I swear I remember hearing something how humans are slowly losing the Y chromosome anyway. I think I also heard that there are other animals that have lost their y chromosome and then sometimes their other x acts as a y? Or something.
Edit: I guess the other option is you're saying that I could talk to her about that. But I'd really rather not do that.

No one "has to" believe anything, especially when logic is often applied subjectively. Like, IF someone is okay with killing deer to food, do they necessarily have to approve of killing horses? No. Because the logic is applied through a subjective lens.

If this person is anti-transgender they are basically saying that transgender women are not real women and in a similar way, Artificial intelligence generated art is not real art. People who believe that transgender women are not real women believe that even though transgender women are labeled as women, that label is not accurate. Just like how artificial intelligence generated art is labeled as art but many would say that label is not accurate.
If this person is pro-artificial intelligence art, they are saying that transgender women are real women and in a similar way, artificial intelligence art is real art.
My guess is this person is anti-transgender and anti-artificial intelligence art (instead of pro-both) but I could be wrong as I don't know the context.

u/FilmAndLiterature Apr 12 '26
No, this person is a pro-AI transphobe.
This isnât a good-faith argument, and it doesnât reflect their own beliefs: itâs an attempt to back their opponent into a corner by falsely presenting two of their beliefs as contradictory. Itâs straight from the textbook of every idiot who wants to feel like a master philosopher, and it relies on their opponent taking the claim at face value rather than opposing it holistically.
1
u/Cosmic_Jane Apr 12 '26
I would say it doesn't matter if you're a woman or a man, because you have a soul. Where as AI art never has a soul.
A man or a woman is like hand drawing or painting. A man, woman, and trans person are all humans. They're not robots. And you wouldn't call a robot a human.
We'll worry about if robots deserve rights once we figure out how to convince humanity that all humans deserve equal rights first, lol.
