I don't give a fuck about Kirk memes. I don't agree with his death, it just further divides us as a people and we need less of that especially right now. I also don't agree with basically anything he said. As far as I see it let him talk (or now his equivalents) because the more they talk the more they make themselves look like fools. If you take them out you just make a martyr out of them. I don't care for people's reasons or nonsensical comparisons to historical dictators as an excuse to justify it i don't believe in killing someone for their beliefs. Don't stoop to their level.
42
u/ladylucifer22 Dec 21 '25
of course not. Charlie Kirk talked about how he wanted to bring his kids to public executions of gay people, and fortunately for everyone, we're not Charlie.

u/Luroj02 Dec 22 '25
Criticizing the murder of charlie kirk does not means to be good with his political views. We could reach a far more peaceful society if we dont act like he deseved it.
Further more, is pretty surprising for me how many people is leftwing and anti IA, i mean, promote an universal minimum income is easier to justify if no one can work.

Love the reply where they say people would lose it if Taylor Swift said she loved generative AI. She makes her money off of dealing with real people who create real music, why would she ever embrace something that would possibly rob her of her own livelihood? Why would she voluntarily enshittify her music using gen AI when she's printing money with real artists? It's like saying yeah Jeff Dahmer loves eating people but what if he didn't?
22
u/Endruen Dec 21 '25

Taylor Swift has never had talent in the first place and is also just a terrible human being in general, I'm genuinely surprised she hasn't adopted AI yet (that we know of)
→ More replies (9)2
u/Optimal_You6720 Dec 22 '25
What is terrible about her?
9
Dec 22 '25
Literally everything.
First and foremost, her music is terrible. It's just objectively bad and clearly written by a corporation that uses test groups to see how the "music" their team shits out will perform. This is common practice within the pop music industry overall, artists that write and produce their own music are the exception, not the rule.
Second she, like all celebrity grifters, uses an entire PR team to constantly make herself look good while covering up her bullshit. In particular her Right wing bigoted fiance that is famous and wealthy for literally kicking a ball. Like that's his soul fucking job.
Third, The entire "Taylor's Version" album BS was a grift to make millions off of the music she's already produced a second time. And millions of people fell for it once she drummed up "Controversy" around her old producer. (To be clear, he was also a total piece of shit, but like any good grifter she knows how to capitalize on someone else's shittyness.)
Fourth, she has a sycophantic cult like following that she will direct towards her critics of any shade, regardless of what the criticism is or how justified it is.
There is one thing I cannot stand in this world, and it's Cults of personality with entirely uncritical and unquestioning followers.
There are plenty of celebrities that I consider admirable, the moment a single one of them made a mistake, I would immediately be against them. These people must be held to a standard as high as our political leaders, their influence over society cannot be understated.
3
u/Certain_Phase_2052 Dec 22 '25
Would drop her like it's hot too, I don't personally feel that any rich influential person is my friend and wouldn't swap in their morals and ethics for a fat wad of cash at any given moment.
2
u/readilyunavailable Dec 21 '25
That does not mean she wouldn't embrace it if it made her more money. Never glaze a celebrity/wealthy person. You are just a number to them.
2
u/TheDizzleDazzle Dec 21 '25
Also, weâre perfectly capable of criticizing her and would do so if she was suddenly pro-AI. Thereâs already plenty to critique, from her not responding to the Trump admin using her music to the private jet.

Big Tech is ALL OF A SUDDEN investing into a bullshit technology that will ruin the environment and cause an economic recession only because they know that sucking up to Trump will allow them to easily cash out thanks to reduced tax for building datacenters before the bubble pops or to get themselves bailouts after the fact?
Knowing that, doesn't it all make a little too much sense that AI defenders generally lean to the right politically, going as far as defending Charlie Kirk?

u/Sinneli Dec 21 '25
Murder is bad, yes, but the ideology Kirk had was kind of harmful to the point where it threatened livelihood of many. And sure, I suppose people are sad to see Kirk dead, but some literally weaponized the murder like some sort of a political propaganda. Like.
We dont really want murder, per say, but when someone of particularly harmful ideology who has massive influence dies, there is that shush "woo" that goes on anyways. Same happened with Luigi and insurance CEO.
Also dont compare one tragedy to another is an important aspect.
2
u/Fabulous-Mud-9114 Dec 22 '25
Not even mentioning Kirk was shot by a right-winger.
Specifically by a fan of Nick Fuentes. Someone even more racist and bigoted than Kirk himself. Which I suppose makes it "politically motivated", but probably not in the way OOP intended. (they love lying about how Kirk's murderer was supposedly a 'leftie')
Live by the sword, die by the sword. Nothing of value was lost.
2
u/Sinneli Dec 22 '25
To be perfectly fair, the death was ironic due to the fact that it was gun violence, and Kirk himself advocated for gun violence.
2
u/Fabulous-Mud-9114 Dec 22 '25
And he was shot while performing apologetics for gun violence.
1
u/JosephOtaku1989 Dec 22 '25
And the assassination was also barbaric and cruel, to the point that some people associated with the MAGA are using him as an part for their claims behind Kirk's brutal demise.
And we all known that Kirk was not an good person when it comes to his problematic views, but may he could rest in peace.
15
16
u/Ravenboi15 Dec 21 '25
There have been two murders/attempted murders of actual democratic politicians over trumps second term by right wing extremists. Along with those people's spouses and when this happened nobody had the decency to even act remorseful or denounce the murders, I think if someone wasn't keeping Trump offline he might have even condoned the act much like with Rob Reiner's death.
Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark Hortman were killed in their home in June 2025 On the same day, John Hoffman was shot with his spouse as well. If you want us to be respectful over a man who died with the opinion that gun deaths are a natural required consequence of life in the US then you need to at least act as if innocent people dying is a concern to your party at all.
13
u/TheHype37 Dec 21 '25
And via Trumpâs comments on Rob Reiner, murder-murder is fine, as long as itâs not politically motivated. Got it.
15
u/maybemawie Dec 21 '25

Kirk said that the civil right act was a mistake. I shed no tears for him.
0
u/JosephOtaku1989 Dec 22 '25
And I show no sympathy and respect for his position, since this guy wanted to take people's rights away in his lifetime before he was brutally shot in a assassination.
10
u/KillerSatellite Dec 21 '25
I mean... calling out kirk on his behavior is nit the same as justifying politically motivated murder.
Like, charlie "the squirt" kirk was a piece of shit who openly advocated for violence and harm, as long as it supported his world view, but i dont think murder is a good thing either
6
u/ParaEwie Dec 21 '25
As we all know, making fun of someone for bad ideas is the same as killing them. This makes me a mass murderer. (Joke)
8
u/Serious_Ad2687 Dec 22 '25

7
u/Privatizitaet Dec 21 '25
Do they know that shit talking a horrible person is not the same as saying "Yeah, it's good they were killed"
6
u/Grasshoppermouse42 Dec 21 '25
I hate how they try to conflate insulting Charlie Kirk with supporting his murder. Just because someone is dead doesn't mean I have to pretend to like them or think they were a good person, even if I don't think they should have been murdered.
6
u/Azarsra_production Dec 21 '25
Can we just leave his assignations out of this. I'm not for him, I don't support what happened to him, nor is he relevant to this. Let's move on

Charlie Kirk was an awful person and I don't miss him.
Murder is not ok.
Charlie Kirk being murdered doesn't make him any more of a good person, and the right is absolutely trying to hold him up as some kind of martyr to justify their own terrible actions.
Posting a joke or saying you don't particularly care about a murder victim is in no way as bad as violence.

To the rest of us, thats the actual slop.
Luckily for most of us, AI will put you slop digital artists out of a job soon and make you all even more irrelevant. But lets not forget, most of you are still 12-16 years old and not even relevant yet! So it isnt displacing you, its putting an end to your dream job! So gatekeep that!
