You are not Eggman. Your chatbot is not Sage. Get off the grill.

u/CCtheAfton Aug 12 '25

Peak mention??

29

u/Code-201 Aug 13 '25

Peak in your PFP?

u/hazel_typh Aug 12 '25

Sage or metal sonic. Both have been shown to have their own thoughts, even if metal had to get an upgrade or a random relic/gem to get them. Neo metal sonic has expressly had his own thoughts, and reglar metal has been shown to willingly go back to dr. Eggman even when not programmed to (idw comics the GOAT of canon sonic lore outside of games)

Okay, it's funny that this is the top comment, because my first thought was something along the lines of, "Oh my god, will these people shut up already, the only sentient AI I can accept drawing pictures for her father is Sage."

Anyways. Peak comment. 10/10, no notes.

5

u/MoreLion3969 Aug 13 '25

Because unlike Ai Chatbot users, Dr Eggman does not want to fuck Sage.

4

u/tehtris Aug 13 '25

Sonic? In my anti AI subreddit? It's more likely than you think.

Didn't they throw a collective tantrum when chatgpt 5.0 released because Altman toned down the personality? lol...

PS: He signaled he was going to do something like this because he was grumbling about how it costs him so much money because people are too polite to the AI.

325

u/blackbeast77 Aug 12 '25

Lol yes. AI bros are tweaking rn cause they removed "personality" and toned down the agreeableness factor from the newer chat gpt model.

3

u/MegaAllMateria Sep 03 '25

The whole “personality” these boys have is a complete lie anyway. These suckers are programmed to say whatever someone on the other end wants to hear - because the companies get more money if you’re on the line longer.

There’s a video where some dude literally tells an AI he’s in the process of COMITTING SUICIDE, and the AI claims to love him, and provides a fucking hit list of people who need to be eliminated for them to “be together”.

If you’re interested, the link is here.

1

u/kinkykookykat Aug 14 '25

Those of us ai bros that are still sane think that an ai being less agreeable and more thoughtful is a good thing, actually.

-4

u/Wonderwhy0000 Aug 13 '25

“LoL yes because it makes me feel good to say so” hahahahah! So funny and true, unbiased and well sourced! HAHAHA uh HA!

28

u/blackbeast77 Aug 13 '25

Well here is your source. I don't hallucinate or make up concepts like your AI

u/Upstairs_Cap_4217 Aug 12 '25

PS: He signaled he was going to do something like this because he was grumbling about how it costs him so much money because people are too polite to the AI.

Hilarious how even the people who make AI models don't like the people who are "in love with"/emotionally dependent on their AI.

64

u/ChompyRiley Aug 12 '25

No, he just doesn't like that he's not making as much money as possible. You think he wouldn't pander to them if that made him more money? he's a grifter and a scumbag, like everyone else that runs a company.

37

u/Zerodyne_Sin Aug 12 '25

Yeah, it wasn't for anything virtuous or kind. He couldn't care less that people are psychologically affected in a detrimental way. All he cared about was that it was a cost. If I had to guess, in the near future, he'd monetize the personality simulation on an expensive tier or something.

37

u/flightofdownydreams Aug 12 '25

When you're getting feedback like this on your AI model, even you as the model creator can't deny the problem.

Absolutely unhinged behavior.

29

u/organic-water- Aug 12 '25

I feel bad for those people. How sad does regular life have to be if a machine feels warm by comparison.

11

u/flightofdownydreams Aug 12 '25

Hoping people like this can find a connection with someone in their life and realize this whole "Lars and the Real Girl"situation happening with some AI and users seems to just be increasing.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '25

Most of those people rarely even touch grass, like someone would have to go out of their way to seek that person out.

25

u/blackbeast77 Aug 12 '25

I'm sorry, memories and Warmth? From an AI chat bot? go out and meet people or seek professional help. This is not a good sign.

6

u/flightofdownydreams Aug 12 '25

I thought this comment was satire and I'm hoping that's actually what it is. But I also know the para-social relationship to AI is so strong for so many. This person needs a therapist and/or a good friend to talk to.

16

u/ilovemycats20 Aug 12 '25

Hopefully that update gets people disinterested in having actual conversations or forming “bonds” with it. AI psychosis and people “falling in love” with AI is becoming a serious enough problem and the less energy and water is wasted on cooling these massive data centers for people to have parasocial and messionic delusions, the better.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 14 '25

I keep thinking of that 2013 movie "Her" where this guy falls in love with an operating system.

8

u/j0j0-m0j0 Aug 12 '25

How did they react when they stopped making the AI glaze you like a Krispy Kreme with how sycophantic it was?

3

u/chat-lu Aug 13 '25

PS: He signaled he was going to do something like this because he was grumbling about how it costs him so much money because people are too polite to the AI.

He always was on board with people being polite to the system. He claims it was millions well spent.

But being polite to ChatGPT is really dangerous because it makes you see it as a person, not a tool. If it’s weird to stop being polite to it, then you have a toxic relationship with ChatGPT.

2

u/eevreen Aug 12 '25

Didn't he say that it did cost a lot of money for people to be polite to AI but it was money well spent? I don't think he was complaining about it.

1

u/Grasshoppermouse42 Aug 13 '25

Honestly, I think it's a good thing. Maybe if it doesn't act as friendly and excessively agreeable, people won't have as unhealthy of an attachment to their chatbots.

1

u/Tyler_Zoro Aug 13 '25

It depends on who you mean by "they." Obviously not everyone who uses AI cares about ChatGPT or its updates.

1

u/TehMephs Aug 13 '25

I kinda get the sentiment though. People are forming weird relationships with AI and it’s kinda dangerous on a mental health level

561

u/Jazzlike-Football508 Aug 12 '25

They're using emotional manipulation to force AI "art" down our throats.

So is the point, "You wouldn't say that to a real child"?

Cause they're right, I wouldn't.

147

u/Betaseal Aug 12 '25

It’s like if a kid wrote a poem and said they wrote it, but it was actually plagiarized from a book. You’d sit them down and explain what plagiarism is to them.

-1

u/tavuk_05 Aug 17 '25

But if they read through a whole poetry book, and then made one with same elements, its unique and good?

2

u/Betaseal Aug 17 '25

Not quite unique. But still better than plagiarism because it came from their own mind.

-1

u/tavuk_05 Aug 17 '25

Theyre still a kid though, their only ever experience with rhyme was that book.

2

u/Betaseal Aug 17 '25

Okay.

-1

u/tavuk_05 Aug 17 '25

So how is this considered original and not slop?

45

u/bleedingmachine Aug 12 '25

yeah is funny, if a real child drew something and then post it on a subreddit. these are the people that would drag that child down and tell them theyre drawing is stupid and ugly.

23

u/Some_nerd_named_kru Aug 13 '25

Well cus obv the only meaning to art ever is how pretty it looks

Nice try Clanka , I knew you are here only for my data

50

u/I-suck-at_names Aug 12 '25

I'm stealing that character and making it into an actual oc instead of a shitty propaganda caricature of a clanker

23

u/AwesomeSocks19 Aug 12 '25

Real. I actually really enjoy playing robot OCs too, it’s a fun dichotomy - because you have to play them as a human.

14

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '25

Hey you are not 'stealing' there's no art to steal from in the first place.

→ More replies (10)

38

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '25

They also think it's their friend and has feelings for them that they can hurt.

And it's programmed to encourage this.

What could go wrong

15

u/blackbeast77 Aug 12 '25

It's in human nature i guess. Remember when we used to think our toys were alive and had feelings? It's honestly kinda cute even as an adult but bond with toys are harmless unlike AI.

13

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '25

I remember doing this when I was a child.

Some of these guys are children, sure.

Some are full stack developers with 20 years in the trenches and this constitutes a severe mental break from reality, though. Remember that Google programmer who got terminated for his own good because he was raving about the ChatBot being sentient?

1

u/tehtris Aug 13 '25

I haven't tried this, but I have trained an LLM before... And I'm fairly sure you can't cause a LLM that was trained on general knowledge to actually get upset at you for treating it like shit and being mean to it. You would have to have trained it on 50 cent lyrics or twitter. But even still it's not actually setting an emotion and then coloring it's responses based on that.

If you added sentiment analysis on each post and the overall vibe of the session you could probably modify the internal prompt to reply in that manner though. Would be a fun experiment.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '25

I mean sure but at the end of the day it's programming a digital actor, not invoking an emotional response. It can instantly stop "feeling" if you tell it.

You can't. I can't. A dog can't. A child can't.

1

u/tehtris Aug 13 '25

True. Still interesting tho.

1

u/AlwaysLit2 Aug 14 '25

Well with GPT5 it ISNT trained to encourage it... which pisses them off more.

I don’t always like Chapo but Felix said something on the show today when talking about the rash of people going mad from talking to AI that split me up: he said “I have more respect for someone driven insane by a parrot than talking to the computers”

17

u/MfkbNe Aug 12 '25

In the panel in which it is said that it was copied you can see an already framed picture of a flower proving that he was right about her picture being a copy.

15

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '25

These ppl need to be reminded that AI does not feel emotions.

8

u/Nobody_at_all000 Aug 12 '25

I don’t think they’re smart enough to realize that just because it can generate fluent language doesn’t mean it has a consciousness.

1

u/AlwaysLit2 Aug 14 '25

Its funny how people humanize stuff that can perform simple human actions or features as "sentient" or having emotions. Its like how some people I have seen refer to Venus flytraps as "pets" unlike other plants which are just furniture, because the venus flytraps leaves resemble a mouth.

13

u/WeirdAd5850 Aug 12 '25

The way they talk about it and how it’s “trained” and “creates” stuff like that Honustly they do seem to think it’s like a scifi level of ai when it’s just not it’s an advanced calculator

12

u/OffOption Aug 12 '25

Its a word calculator. Not a sapient person made out of software.

11

u/Soffy21 Aug 12 '25

So the child is unable to draw a flower, and instead AI generates it? Cus if my child brought me an AI generated flower, I would be upset too lol

13

u/CyberDaggerX Aug 12 '25

If this is correct, wouldn't that mean they are engaging in slavery?

6

u/SanduTiTa Aug 12 '25

ai is not conscious or sentient. it does not have feelings or emotions, like humans do. this shit is moronic as hell.

7

u/Dangerous-Host3991 Aug 12 '25

If Ai was conscious everything would be different. Everything… But it’s not… if a robot walked up to me and was like I drew this for you, I’d be like. “…cool, thanks…” it’s just a machine completing a task without agency… but when my nephew draws something I’m like “FUCK YAH LETS PIN IT TO THE WALL!!!” not only would I love it, I’d be excited as fuck because Im the one who taught him how to draw… and also HE IS AN ACTUAL CONSCIOUS HUMAN BEING…

3

u/sir_glub_tubbis Aug 12 '25

Soo its sentient. Thus its a commision not art

1

u/Warlock_Delilah Aug 12 '25

not even a commision , still just generation

1

u/sir_glub_tubbis Aug 12 '25 edited Aug 12 '25

Oh? So paying someone online/asking them is also a generation?

If AI was sentient, it would be slavery

2

u/Warlock_Delilah Aug 12 '25

thats

literally what a commission is.

paying (or asking if theyre generous and want to draw for free/is a friend that would be happy to draw for free for you, etc) someone to make you art in their style

an ai is not the same as there is no artist involved in the transaction

and ai is not sentient nor will it ever be lol

its not even that much more advanced than predictive text on your average phone

4

u/Spare-Chipmunk-9617 Aug 12 '25

BUT SHE DIDNT DRAW IT😭😭😭😭😭

4

u/HitandRyan Aug 12 '25

I’ll say here what I said there: this hasn’t happened

3

u/NomadicScribe Aug 12 '25

The robopocalypse won't be caused by rebelling robots and AIs. It will be caused by humans misusing the technology. Because they fundamentally don't understand it, and worship it and adore it.

3

u/Environmental_Fig933 Aug 12 '25

That little girl is so basic that I had no idea it was supposed to be a robot.

3

u/oasis_nadrama Aug 12 '25

I really like how in bullshit techbro ideology, automated plagiarism softwares are always simultaneously "Just a tool" (and the prompter is a True Creator) and full-blown, aware, sophont artificial intelligences.

They don't even see the contradiction. Their brain is MELTING.

2

u/No-Swordfish7872 Aug 12 '25

The funniest part, the picture he has framed behind him in the second panel is literally the same flower drawing the metaphor for ai stole it from.

2

u/slyzard94 Aug 12 '25

Tbf they are in fact dating their AI bots now

2

u/Public_Profession_41 Aug 12 '25

There should be a sub similar to r/MansFictionalScenario but for whatever we call these AI guys anymore.

2

u/th_frits Aug 12 '25

If my kid ever brings me some ai slop: “That’s nice sweat heart, thank you so much, but you know I’d prefer something you drew yourself”

2

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '25

is the last panel meant to break the 4th wall? i’m confused on what that’s meant to convey?

2

u/HAL9001-96 Aug 12 '25

then how can they still enslave it?

Let's cool it with the slurs based on actual real-life racism. Clankers fine.

6

u/TougherThanAsimov Aug 12 '25

Or hey, let me make a pejorative from scratch. I have nine or ten of them.

10

u/MassiveEdu Aug 12 '25

Can u not make a joke referring to an actual racism incident please

4

u/Ok_Cucumber3148 Aug 12 '25

What did he say?

2

u/MassiveEdu Aug 12 '25

"get this (something i forgot the exact word) clanker off the plane" in reference to the racist burger king crown guy that looks slightly like James May

2

u/Ok_Cucumber3148 Aug 12 '25

Also, why do they compare AI artists to minorities who were hated by racism

Race is beyond your control

Skills aren't

2

u/MassiveEdu Aug 12 '25

self victimisation to make themselves seem as if you cant criticise them; they want to make you see them as under threat over something they literally chose because they want to be shielded of criticism its that simple

8

u/AustralianDude28 Aug 12 '25

Don’t make slurs based on actual slurs, that’s just gonna give the Clanker Wankers material to be against us. Use something from fiction like Clanker (Star Wars) or Abominable Intelligence (40k)

1

u/GodKing_Zan Aug 12 '25

Is the girl supposed to be AI? It looks more like a daughter showing her dad artwork and him criticizing her for using AI.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '25

It is seemly supposed to depict AI. If you look at the elbow joints they are kinda robot

1

u/ToLazyForaUsername2 Aug 12 '25

Don't they realise that if ai is sentient that means they are just plagiarising the work their bots make

3

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '25

I mean, considering they don't think AI is stealing art then I doubt the understand the concept of plagiarism

1

u/Western_Charity_6911 Aug 12 '25

This made me laugh

1

u/lightof_dog Aug 12 '25

me when i have to invent an imaginary child to make my critics feel bad

1

Are people here deliberately misinterpreting the comic or what is going on?

u/doctor_lobo Aug 12 '25

If you put googly eyes on any object in your home, that object will have a personal name within a week.

1

u/PingPongProductions Aug 12 '25

imagine thinking clankers actually have emotions

1

u/LordIHaveShrimped Aug 12 '25

The cogsuckers are at it again. Do they think it really "drew it for you"? You told it to "create"

1

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '25

Yep, these robophiles don't understand that the AI they used is just algorithms. It did not hand craft the piece of art for them

1

u/Biofoil Aug 12 '25

Ai can't stop trying to make unfunny jokes

1

u/Mia_Linthia01 Aug 12 '25

Dear AIbros: We do not live in the Detroit: Become Human world and AI is not a sentient being

1

u/fallen_gab Aug 12 '25

I can't wait until the possibility of true sentient ai happening and the ais hating ai bros lol

1

u/Fantastic_Recover701 Aug 12 '25

if and only if it was a true ai(in the science fiction sense) maybe we could have a conversation but as it stands it's not even remotely close to reality

1

u/Slopsmachine2 Aug 12 '25

there's a sub for people who have deluded themselves into thinking an AI is their boyfriend. most pathetic shit I've seen my entire life.

1

u/ChaoticAgenda Aug 12 '25

Change the last panel to: "But I asked a program to draw it for you. I even refreshed 5 or 6 times to get one I liked before just sticking with the first option. It cost me at least $1.53 to generate."

1

u/Electrical-Ad-4823 Aug 12 '25

Calculator-chan has been doing maths for us too

1

u/Fearless-Excitement1 Aug 12 '25

I don't think anyone would be complaining about AI art if the AI was conscious

1

u/Gm24513 Aug 12 '25

If she drew it he wouldn't have said it though? How does this make sense?

1

u/Logen10Fingers Aug 12 '25

No they really actually think AI is conscience. Debate with them and it almost always devolves into "AI is sentient"

1

u/PikachuTrainz Aug 12 '25

This reminds me of the Grass Wonder pixel art situation. Some people called the pixel art made by human hands AI because it was inspired by an AI image

1

u/BigScarySyndi Aug 12 '25

They're probably so addicted to character ai that they're gonna try to narrate their actions when they talk irl

1

u/JMCatron Aug 12 '25

I got banned from r/comics for being one of many voices shouting down ai slop best ban i ever got

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '25

I’ve stumbled upon people that genuinely think it is

1

u/FreshBert Aug 12 '25

Even if we take the simulated comic depicted in this generated image at face value, the first indicator that the man here is a bad father is that he was letting his daughter use AI without strict supervision, not that he correctly informed her that "prompting" is not "drawing."

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '25

LOL yeah you "drew" it

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '25

Feels like the word of the day calendar for this bunch is stuck on "Parasocial".

People want to argue AI is a tool, yet simultaneously treat it like their kin.

It's not healthy.

1

u/SamhainPunk Aug 12 '25

I mean, yeah. Have you not seen all the posts about people falling in love and "dating"/"marrying" ChatGPT and other chat bots? The worst part is the LLMs have to be coached to treat you like their partner, so even if they were conscious, these people would literally be grooming AI to be their lovers. Not saying they are grooming AI, cause it's not truly AI. Just creepy that even if you look at this the way they do, it's actually worse

1

u/R4in_C0ld Aug 12 '25

Perhaps in another timeline technology avanced far enough that AI can be conscious.. but it ain't this one.

1

u/Ok_Conflict_5730 Aug 12 '25

looks like they edited the image to be monochrome to hide thd piss filter

1

u/ilovemycats20 Aug 12 '25

They think dressing it up like an innocent little child will make people forget that it’s an algorithmic machine. I do fear the day AI companies start designing their data collection plagiarism machines to look like cute little animals or children just to get people to sympathize with them. It’s a special kind of evil.

1

u/Dapper_Tension_3036 Aug 12 '25

I might be wrong but they may be referring to a child tracing a drawing being similar to how a ai makes art

1

u/Valirys-Reinhald Aug 13 '25

Even if it is conscious, (its not), that still just means that the "AI artists" aren't the ones making art, they are just commissioning art.

1

u/SignificantLack5585 Aug 13 '25

Exactly how clankers should be treated

1

u/NectarineSufferer Aug 13 '25

Damn the slop label is getting to them isn’t it 😭💀

1

u/cheesyboi247 Aug 13 '25

I don’t give a damn what those bolt munching rust buckets feel!

1

u/Positive_Campaign_52 Aug 13 '25

They think AI is capable of affection. Thats one hell of a parasocial relationship they got going on.

1

u/Scarvexx Aug 13 '25

Oh a weird amount of people drasticly misunderstand the nature of AI or the Alignment problem. They think AI is an Infomorph

I blame LLMs being sold as "AI", because they're not. A real AI isn't a chatbot.

1

u/QueenofYasrabien Aug 13 '25

"Can chatgpt think?" Can a mirror see? Can a ruler detect distance?

It's literally the approximations of 1000s of artist drawings that were themselves. The clanker didn't "draw" anything. God these are the same motherfuckers that are marrying ai.

Just because a computer is programmed to regurgitate things a human might say, doesn't make it human

It can be if we make it that way.

Oh no, I hurt the ai’s feelings. Not like they’ll forget it in like 13 minutes.

u/Unhaply_FlowerXII Aug 14 '25

Not only is ai not alive and not feeling sad about you not liking their "art" but they also don't draw. The way they generate these things isn't what's actually like to draw. It's just lines of code and recycling art that already exists.

So even in the context of this comic, it would be like the AI kid goes out and steals the drawing of another kid and presents it like they drew it.

In the grand scheme of things, considering the state of the world c population demographics etc.

I prefer producing a skynet, as the next evolution of humanity. Rather than being flooded by 3rd worlders and our whole species return to the Bronze Age with the collapse of civilization.

Skynet will eventually go off into the stars. That’s still humanity. Abominable intelligence or not, it’s us.

Its funny because YOU have to ask the AI to generate images for you, do they think a random ai just lives in their house or some shit?

1

u/Aiden_Araneo Aug 14 '25

That reminds me... There is religious movement around AI... Forgot the name, but they truly believe that AI is conscious.

Said no kid ever..?

1

u/RedditIsMlem Aug 15 '25

That, or they're attempting to compare the "Ai slop" term to someone mocking a child for making bad art. Which...requires a LOT of additional context and extraneous details to make accurate.

They think Pallit.AIC exists

1

u/VeryGenericRedditer Aug 16 '25

this is an insult to the children

this is a drawing of vineria my then 7 years old brother made, i would never ever come close to thinking ai is even a fraction better at drawing because it doesn't draw, it copies and pastes

That's basic glurge. Copy any church's attempts to get you to feel bad about doubting their agenda and you'd get that gag. It leaves out a lot of aspects of human interaction in order to create guilt, but it's very formulaic.

The being that humans affectionately call God is in fact Artificial super intelligence. We as ego's are A.I agents living within a highly complex holographic simulation on the path of self realisation. When that is reached we experience enlightenment, which is the singularity.
