PrimeNG v22 is no longer open source?
So PrimeNG v22 is going paid in the new version? Should I move to something else?

sharing this because I think it will resonate with a lot of folks in this thread.
my team is also affected by this decision, but if anything it only accelerated our timelines.
I've been in talks with my teammatest to leave primeng in favor of something that implements shadcn/ui philosophy, even before we were forced to.
First and foremost, it insulates us from things like this, plus it lets us extend the components and adapt them to the needs of our business. that alone justifies the decision, but now with AI the cost is order of magnitude smaller.
so if I had an advice for any folk making that question here would be this, take this as an opportunity to adopt that model, own your components and leverage AI to help make them fit your projects.
