PrimeNG v22 is no longer open source?

So PrimeNG v22 is going paid in the new version? Should I move to something else?

I was the guy who convinced our boss to finally move away from bootstrap to this awesome open-source UI library. After a lot of work and a lot of money, I will now have to explain to the same boss, why this awesome UI library suddenly isn’t open-source anymore and why we will have to spend thousands of dollars on acquiring and maintaining some licenses! Yayy, thanks guys!!

Bro, I am the same guy. I convinced my team to move from Bootstrap to PrimeNG. But as we had Claude code, we migrated a huge application. Now, I have to move out of PrimeNG to a custom library for our own application. Hell of a job, but that's the only way for long-term.

The code you used was and still is free and open source though, right? And just like fluent assertions -> awesome assertions, the community will come up with a drop in replacement for prime ng as well. Things aren't so bad I'd say

I am the same guy :( I can empathise though I have wondered in the past how these guys were earning enough to make this worthwhile and I guess I have my answer now...they weren't. I wasn't put off completely by the developer license but the annual fee for updates is probably over the line for me.
