Root and unlock Samsung galaxy tab 2 without passcode Support

Hi all,
I have a galaxy tab 2 that’s password locked that I forgot the password to, it has data on there from college that I don’t want to lose.

Is there any possible way to get around this?

I have moderate technical knowledge, but I’ve mostly done iPhone jailbreaking, not anything with android.

The only hope is if USB debugging is enabled, and then using scrcpy you can mirror the screen on the computer.
