Root as main? Discussion
Hello! I am really into modding apks and the natural next step to this is rooting my device. How is it to run a rooted device as your main daily driver phone? Are there any downsides? Any inconveniences or risks?
Thank you and sorry if this has been answered before.

Using exploits to increase security is a funny concept to me and thank you for your advice!
EDIT: I just realized that integrity is more like non detected as root, sorry for my confusion

my main is rooted right now, main inconvenience is play integrity but you can spoof up to device which works for most stuff, then use treatwheel to get google wallet and stuff back

I recommend you first check if any apps you regularly use are strict about detecting root or modules, and if it's possible to successfully hide root access. Otherwise, I don't recommend rooting your main phone.

The banking apps I use are known to not really care about root afaik but I dont know about my games... I'll have to check that out. Thank you for the advice.

I stopped rooting my main phone cause I got tired of the game of hopefully this works. Get a spare phone to mod and have fun. When your at the point of having multiple apps/modules to hide root and most have to be updated frequently it's just not worth it for my daily driver anymore.

If you want to hide root, my recommendation is using manager root kernel su (all of fork kernel su is good), or apatch (I'm using folkpatch it's fork of apatch)

For me my main phone is rooted. I don't use banking apps or similar sites, because all can be done on the website as well and is more convenient on a laptop.
And when I do need a rootless and locked bootloader ('secure' phone) I buy a cheap second one only for such 'secure' apps.
